So now all we need to do is find, what, a 150 bedroom cottage....? Damn.

Bobby and I have stayed (with loads of friends) in a couple of 20 (or is it two ten) bedroom cottages in the countryside near Derby.

They're so ace that about twenty of us played sardines in them, and numerous games and variations on 'Hide & Seek'. They're enormous. Plus they have a snooker table. And grass on which football was played. And several tellyboxes.

*scratches chin*

We should do this this year, reckon.

Here is the place that Bobby and Curio stayed: http://www.peakdistrictonline.co.uk/acc ... /l685.html

Funny you mention this, as Bobby and I are indeed doing this very thing this weekend. In fact, he's probably already there.

We're going here (please don't come and murder us in the night):

Will let you know how it goes!

We talking a weekend? Friday + sat night, leave on sunday?

I'd be tempted if it was easily accessible and reasonably priced

It usually works out easiest to have it in the Midlands, so you'd be sorted.

Prices range from 40-70 quid a head for the entire stay (you can stay Sunday night too if you want).

Often this can be varies, for instance if we take a place with beds for 20 and 25 turn up, discounted rates apply (especially for those without beds!).

No, were talking forever in a hippy commune with Kalmar growing us organic electricity and me farming pigs dressed like Felicity Kendal.

I'll pick you up and you can stay for free as long as you promise to be a faithful wife.

Dressing pigs up as Felicity Kendal is challenging at times.

Aye, I'd be up for this as long as it's fairly easy to get to (no guarantee I'll have the car) unless Gill & Jen are driving down then it's little or no problem.

You sure about that?

You may remember this definitive answer to that point:

Right - sophisticated Google Map technology gives us this distribution of BeeXers across the UK. Each red dot is a BeeXer. There's one that looks quite a lot like Zardoz, if you look closely.

If we are going to do this, I'd rather go further than 4 miles from my house. So no Blithfield reservoir please.

Well, the place near Derby was still decent, and a good weekend was had by all.

It has 8 or 9 bedrooms. Most of them have two single beds in them, though there are a couple of double beds, as well. If we're spilling over from that amount of people then there is a second building right next to it which sleeps another 15 or so (or we can have people on airbeds and stuff if they really want to).

So, yeah.

Agree that the food is good there. Heaving in the summer though, and indeed most weekends. That place is the worst kept secret in Hampshire!

If we're going off-season then the end of September/start of October would be good. Not too cold so we can go for walks (ha!) and lots of nice, crunchy leaves on the ground. And far enough from Christmas to mean people will have money. Maybe.
