Is it automatic and instant? Does it work on team-mates or only enemies?

Yes, and works on everyone, even yourself! :D

Learn to use the iron sights and you can get away with not using the RDS

Cheers, guys. I'm always running out of ammo if I get a decent kill-streak, so I'll have a look at switching to Scavenger tonight.

I should probably get round to creating more than one class, too.

Scavenger proved invaluable while I was getting used to the M-16. I decided to keep it.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, Scavenger is invaluable when sniping. You set a claymore, they blow up, you get another claymore, set it, they blow up, etc.

I sat in the bathroom (of the house on 'Estate'), nipping out occasionally and watching the bodies pile up!

:DD

Do make more than one class. At the moment I have 7 classes

A silenced sneaky assualt one with claymores + scav

Running around vector class with striker + ninja for running behind people sneakyness

Sniper class with Intervention + FMJ + SP + sit rep and scavenger for claymore goodness

Anti Air

stab class, Ump + m9 with tac knife and the usual stab perks

LMG class with Aug + thumber + scav and danger close

and another assault class with the tar 21 with fmj/silencer depending on game mode + SP and commando

It's good to mix it up and you get points for unlocking things for each gun etc...

Yeah, I really should set aside some time to set some more up.

The play style of the opposing team can change so dramatically from match to match it's a bit daft I'm trying to play with one generic class.

Some games required different classes

CTF - needs super fast runny man.
Demolition - best to use tac insertions near the bombsite so you can stop the other team diffusing/planting it
Domination - anything will do really, but claymores/C4 + scav are great for defending the objective
SnD - Best to run silenced, cold blooded and silent footsteps as you've only got one life and best make it count.

Depends on what your style of play is. You can probably get away with just one class for everything but you wont do as well as others in the whole objective part

i tend to play one class and then just try for all the challenges with that weapon.
but reading some of these posts have made me think i should mix it up a bit. i must admit i like the way you get lots of challenge alerts in the early games of playing a new weapon, i know you get less xp but its nice to know you've hit a landmark.

So scavenger replenishes what you started with? or only replaces stuff if the player you killed has it?
for example, if i use my claymore and scavenger someone who isn't using them do i get one?

So cold blooded stops you getting shot by choppers/harriers? hmm, not even thought about using a stinger yet.

Stingers are great :-)

Cpt_Droman wrote:
Scavenger hasn't grabbed my attention yet either, but if you can get some cool stuff it might be worth doing.

The three things i like about scavenger are :

1) Claymores , every body you run over gets you another claymore (assuming you've used the last one) - can be great to create 'minefields' for the enemies to run into

2) When i start getting a good kill streak together my spraying bullets technique often means i'm almost out of ammo on my main gun so i need to hunt around and steal one from a body - with scavenger you just run over a dead body and you've ammo for your 'own' gun again

3) Stingers - if the enemy gets multiple UAV's or Aircraft it means you can fire off plenty of stingers to kill them without having to die in between each 2 shots.

Craster wrote:
Cold blooded stops them seeing you as the lovely obvious red square on the overhead view, as I understand it.

However you *can* still see them moving about - its just harder to do (i've hit cold blooded people with a predator because i could see the group of them all together moving around)

Tee Hee, i love claymores!!
STILL loving my shotgun though but i'll give stingers a go instead of shooting Harriers down with my LMG.

One other thing i've seen when i've been on the end of a whipping is that a number of groups all work together going around a map (on Team Deathmatch) because of this when you run into one you have multiple people shooting at you and if your lucky you probably only get one of them.

It does run the risk of them being taken down en mass with a grenade or similar but i wonder if these are people in the same 'room' who can see each others screens or are just very good at communicating whats going on and where they are being shot from.

I also really really hate the stabby stabby guys - i had one disasterous match when we played earlier this week when i basically kept spawning in roughly the same area and the stabby guy just kept hitting / killing me even when i'm unloading my gun in his face (and ended up with something like 44 deaths on that single map)

Knife + Commando Pro + Tactical Knife thingy + Ninja + Lightweight i think

I have a few general ones which are basically gun i'm using at the moment + attachment + Stinger + Claymore then just tweaks on the perks

I have also had a play with 1 man army which seems to be a problem when you actually change and your unarmed for around 20 seconds.

There was a stabby guy on sub base last night who just kept running behind me when shooting my shotgun at him or running right through my clymore and slashing me up from what feels like 8 feet away.

Aye, it can be fantastically effective or an utter clusterfuck. As I play with headphones on I tend to shy away from the crowds so I can flank & shoot/knife my/our enemenememies foes before they even realise I'm there . Sneaking up the rear FTW! (No homo ;))

The Commando pro perk increases the range of your knife attacks (i dont have it so not sure how much) and there is a 'tactical knife' attachment you can get with a pistol which increases the speed you 'reload' to knife again

I do use the knife when i remember - its very effective if you run round a corner and 'bump' into someone - my first instinct is to knife - if its a friend then no damage - if its an ememy they are dead normally before they have got their first bullet out

I hate knife cunts. Except for the satisfaction of having them running straight at you (if it was a PC game they'd be spamming 'LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL') and just firing thwack thwack thwack into their face and having their stupid n00bish corpse slide to a stop at your feet.

My 360 has been repaired/replaced (I have a feeling they've replaced it this time) and is currently enroute back from Germany, should be back Monday. No doubt my MW2 skills will have withered.

I'm glad this thread is still about as it reminded me that the copy I bought on Ebay on the 11th hasn't arrived yet. Time to pester the seller.

I know. I only started doing it for the Challenge on my Famas. But I haven't stopped using it. But i might ditch Bling on my Famas class in favour of something else as discussed today. I'll be sticking with the Jesus Sight and ditching the 'nade tube.

That fucking smoke grenade thermal bit on the oil rig thingy on Veteran. I kept planting claymores behind me, which failed to take out a single enemy during the constant barrage of grenades they kept throwing, and nobody bothered to cover my back. Oh well, after about 50 attempts, I'm through.

Chap in work is a fan (he's one of the four PS3 owners who bought it, roffles!) and asked if I was gonna Prestige. I said yes, he said he might not, I told him he was a gay fag n00blar who just wants to AK/RPG-7/1887 people.

Just played some late night games with Gill and Jen, and the opposition talked a few times about 'Quick Scoping'.

From the killcams, it seems that if you have Sleight of Hand Pro equipped, aim your sniper rifle in the vicinity of someone and then pull the trigger between the time you start to aim and actually aiming, it ALWAYS hits. Even if you were aiming a bit away from them. I must have died 6 or 7 times from that, several times to a guy who was Prestige 10 (I think). Once (we were playing S&D) in the first second of the match. He spawned, pulled up his sights (I wasn't in sight, he was standing next to a thin wall in Scrapyard) and between pulling them up and seeing anything he fired and killed two of us.

Methinks it's another glitch that needs patching.
