RE: bail applications. I have found to my extreme discomfort and displeasure that the likelihood of reoffending(charged with another similar crime from the same weekend) and/or running(not a UK national) actually doesn't come into it as much as you would like when you live in the area I do. Bad people get out on bail against the wishes of the authorities simply because (and I quote) there is no room in the prison.
Bail can GTFF.

What would you buy?
  • separate 4.5 tog duck feather+down and 10.5 tog duck all-down duvets for £99, or
  • 4.5 + 9 tog 'all season' duck feather+down duvet combo for £75

John Lewis have the 10.5 tog all-down duvet on offer for £60, see, and while I've liked the all-season feather+down combo we shared, I'm tempted by spending the extra £24, though the two won't button together for uber-warmth.

Doesn't bail exist because you've not been found guilty of anything yet?

The first one.
Assuming it's for me next month, of course ;)

Fraid not, this is for me now. I've got the 9.5 tog feather+down part temporarily, and it's not really warm enough. Though that's mostly because my feet stick out of the end. Hm. Maybe I should up to the superking 'all season' feather+down and be done with it.

Actually, that's 'only' £89.

Surely it will be the same length and your feet will still stick out of the end though?

Oh yeah, I always forget that superking is only wider than king. But aha, king is 225x220, so being just me I could turn it the wrong way round for added length.

I'd also need new bedlinen, which is the clincher. Gotta be king, then.

I've just said I'm not buying new bedlinen, and IKEA is all freaky-sized. And I hate IKEA.

Also it has to be at least feather+down. I spend enough time in bed to think the duvet, mattress and pillows warrant some cash-loving (a new mattress is next on the list, this airbed is getting right on my tits).

Hm. Debenhams is £60 for the down+feather duo thing, but I'd have to go to the trafford centre just to look because their stupid website won't deliver to my work or the store.

The difference in graphical ability is practically negligable.

You can see a 360 and PS3 side-by-side on a reasonably big telly at mine if you're seriously debating which one you want, Kovacs.

Im completely convinced theres no difference at 720p if that helps.
I base this on more current titles not the old ports to the PS3 of Xbox games that looked WANK on the PS3 such as R6:Vegas

The thing is, exclusives aside, developers lead on the 360, as it's by far the easier one todo that on, between a more familiar model, closeness to PC development, more flexible memory model, better tools etc etc. While that's the case (and it will likely remain that way due to costs) it'll be rare for the ps3 version of a game to be superior to the (usually cheaper to buy) 360 verrsion.

As he should. The multiplayer side of things is much better. My PS3 hardly gets used for anything but playing shiny movies and streaming.

The difference between the two consoles on a large scale is, I reckon, the Blu-ray player, and that's it.
The difference between them for me is that everyone else I know plays multiplayer on their 360. I've not had a working PS3 controller for six months now and I'm in no hurry to replace it..

The PS3 is more capable (although it does have a few critical weak-spots, such as disk read speed, which require designing around), but there are only two or three development studios able to take advantage of this, so it's fairly meaningless.

:this: I'm more into leaderboards than multiplayer so I'd choose the 360 over PS3 for that reason as there only seems to be a handful of PS3 owners on here. I wonder what the split is on here for 360/PS3 ownership?

A very rough count suggests 114 Xbox to 28 PS3 owners. Some people (21, in fact) are both, of course.

So only 7 people only have a PS3. Roughly.

Both numbers are inflated by lurkers/ex-posters. The PS3 is further inflated by people who don't have one (Dimrill, Gilly)

I know, my point is that there are only about 15 regular posters with ps3s.

Of those, only Anonymous X only has a ps3. Perhaps Zio if he's sold gis xbox again.

Apparently Egypt has suffered some devastating storms and flash floods. Pity the "non-white people disaster" slot for this year is already taken.

I totally care about places my relatives haven't recently been on holiday to, as well.

Still have the 360, but may sell up to fund the increasingly expensive upgrade of my PC (that's fast turning into a whole new PC, since at this rate the case will be the only thing I've kept).

Anyway PS3 or Xbox 360? It's simple... as everyone else here has suggested!

You value playing BluRay movies over online multiplayer hijinks = buy a PS3.

You value online multiplayer hijinks over playing BluRay movies = buy a 360.
