As you all know, I'm a stickler for proper spelling and grammar (unless I'm posting from my phone ), but I have a gap in my knowledge. Shocking, I know.

Both. It depends what you want to say.

It's 'too' if you mean 'I'm going there as well'

If you hadn't finished the sentence, it could also be 'I'm going there to do something'

I thought it was, but it never looks right to me. I always seem to right 'as well' instead.

"As well" is correct. Aswell isn't a word, although I'm fairly sure it's accepted through common usage. Not by me, though.

And just one more thing, although it is seemingly also accepted through common usage:

CD's and DVD's, etc. It's CDs and DVDs, damn it. CD's = "This CD's case is missing." CDs = "I have too many CDs."
