Overlord 2. It's cheap (10ish). It's a great Pikmin clone. It has character. It's funny. It's charming. It was roundly disliked by prick reviewers who then went to give steaming turd Bayonetta 10/10.

Do you have Assassins Creed 2? If not, get it. It's great.

Is there an option for "none of these"?

Id recommend FO3- GOTY Edition as money well spent. £27 from the Amazon

I've already dropped 65 hrs into fallout 3. And I've already got two of the DLCs which I'll be going back to when I get the itch again.

Thus you may a good choice as I thought that game rocked.

Bayonetta and Assassin's Creed 2 are both awesome, so you can't go wrong with either. I reckon you'd prefer the former, though.

Of recent games released just:
CoD6:MW2
Borderlands

I kinda want a new game. I'm most interested in Bayonetta, Darksiders and Brutal Legend to be honest, but I'll consider left field entries and even assassins creed 2.

You could get both Brütal Legend and Overlord 2 for less pounds than just one of the others.

I can't speak of highly enough about Bayonetta, it's everything I think a video game should be... but it isn't everyone's cuppa. If you liked any of the God of War or Devil May Cry games it'll be right up your street; if not, give it a wide berth.

I've been playing assassins creed 2 for the last three hours and I love it. This is my third night playing it and when I'm not playing it, I am wondering when I will next be allowed to play it. I am going to be so disappointed when I finish it. If you don't buy it now, you have to buy it at some time.

If you wait til I finish with it (next few days I think) you can have Darksiders for the cheap.

Edit: Although I think it is pretty bad. But it seems everyone else on the planet loves it.

I have a few other games for sale too, MW2, a wireless 360 controller, Tomb Raider Underworld and Beatles Rock band. I'll make a thread again when I have finished Darksiders (I think I must be most of the way through it now)

I have Overlord 2, which I purchased because of Dimmers wibbling on about it, and it being cheap.

It's a lot like Overlord 1 - indeed, in the two or three hours I played it for, there is no difference so far.
It's no better, or no worse than the first one.

And the first one was trash. Pikmin was so much better, if that's the sort of thing you like.

The reason "prick reviewers" slated it and then went on to give Bayonetta 10/10 is simply because it's rubbish and Bayonetta is fucking awesome, and I say that as someone that hasn't just played the demo.

Strongly agree.

Assassins Creed 2 is a wonderful game, I loves it.

Overlord II was alright. It's quite funny, and the gameplay is ok. But the controls are fiddly, and the engine has a few issues. A tenner seems like a reasonable price for it, tbh.

Bayonetta is sexyawesome, though.

This is currently £40 in HMV (cheap edition instruments, but still a barg)

O RLY? 40 quid for the game, and all? I don't mind if it isn't the fancy old-style guitar...

I'm going to have to check this out on the way home, I go past HMV.

Edit: The website has the PS3 version showing, but unavailable (deleted), I'll go look instore, it's the 360 version I'm after.

I bought it at Christmas for £40. The guitar and drums are wired, but it does indeed come with everything and the actual game. For £40 you can't complain at all.

Also take note: the bundled game is marked as such. You can't (or at least shouldn't be able to) trade it in.

What are the wired instruments like, anyway? I read something somewhere about them needing calibration :S

But for 40 quid, if I can find it, I reckon I'll take a punt anyway.

Wireless ones do too, as it's not the instruments being calibrated, but the lag between the visuals/sound and the game.

the wired rockband controllers are fine, the strat works well.
the drums make a racket, but you can dampen them.

the mic works as advertised, and you need to have a 360 joypad for that person plugged in.

One thing to note is that the requirement for a powered USB hub - it should be in the box, but its a bit of an annoyance.

I overheard a guy in Gamestation complaining how CoD MW2 is 'only' £45 now after him paying £75 at launch. I was in stitches when I got outside, only just avoiding my urge to mention Sainsbury's.

I could probably go to £40.

I was basing £45 on the cheapest prices for them new: £20 + £33.89 = £53.89

Then apply being excellent discount of around 20%

Bah! Hmv fulham broadway had one but it was marked as 80 quid and they wouldn't budge.

HMV Wimbledon had none, but they did have the wii version. If only I'd noticed this price sooner (I missed it in the bargains thread)

Yays! Got one. It's rather a large box, I won't be too popular on the busy bus back home.

Now to look out for a cheap second guitar. GH Metallica is 30 quid, but I'm not that into them...

I'd recommend Dead Space as being better than most of those. I've played AC2 to completion and can let you borrow it if you promise to look after it. I'm not convinced it's the flawless masterpiece a lot of the people in this thread think it is - it's very good, but about half way through the fun seeps away as you realise there's a metric fuckton of repetitive side missions to do and the actual story isn't very long. Beautiful gameworld though.

Dead Space has a decent story but more importantly it's a good game as it forces you to think about how you play it, which is surprisingly rare nowadays.

Can't vouch for Bayonetta as I'm not a big fan of frenetic hand cramping games
