Darts!

Surely I'm not the only one here who's highlight of the year is to see these finely honed atheletes, toned to the pinnacle of performance chuck the arra's? The PDC started yesterday and already Part and Sholten are out, can anyone stop 'The Power'(c)?

The BDO World Championship starts just after the new year so it's darts-tastic for the next month, this is real sporting action, you can stick ya Champions League quite frankly. The only downside is that Sid Waddel is still commentating and while his schtick is amusing for five minutes, it becomes wearisome after a while.

So Darts, it's brilliant isn't it? :hat:

...try listening to his screaching for two hours. It is enough to bring on an aneurism.

You can always turn the sound down if it annoys :)

Personally I love Darts. I don't really love playing it because I suck ass at it, but I love to watch it.
I don't think I would watch it at any other time of the year tbh, it's definitely one of those 'lie with your feet on the radiator stuffing tangerines' kind of things.

Same with snooker. It's what makes Christmas relaxing.

I do listen to him for two hours. My Dad was a dartist, so we enjoyed lots of hours watching the arras. Don't know whether I can face doing so again without him now though.

I love watching the darts over Christmas/New Year. I don't care whether it is a sport or not, but it definitely is Drama. The BDO last year, with Wolfie heading to a 6-0 lead, needing one set to finally, finally, win the trophy and almost bottling it.

Pah, I consider myself a gentleman of culture and breeding :hat: and I have decided that for my next birthday I shall be attending the PDC finals...I do like the way that when they begin at 12 noon the crowd is already drunk.

Two fantastic matches last night, Taylor destroying the poor dutch lad with his ton plus average and then the Thornton / Mardel match was epic.

Gary Anderson bt Robert Wagner 3-2

sholten has been injured but did play in this years tournament but got knocked out in the second round I think

AND he's not the only thin one now, even Andy Fordham is thin now! more by necessity than choice though

The BBC must surely be trying to ruin the darts because the only darts that was live on terrestrial tv last night was for just one hour on BBC2 and they cut it off a couple of legs before the end of a very good match, it's just ridiculous

Then I have to go hunt around on BBC iplayer for the right program that has the end of the match on, ITV and their coverage of the Grand Slam was so much better even though it was on ITV4, all the darts were live!

Good if one sided final. The Power was on fine form and destroyed the Barney man.

Who won last night out of the aussie and that other bloke?

My cat took a dump which could have peeled wallpaper so I ended up changing the entire litter tray and missed the end.

SOD IT.

So the arras are back, THE POWER (so powerful is he his name has to be in capitals) vs the lost member of ZZ Top...I'm so excited I can barely contain myself. And after tomorrow I can watch the BDO version of the world arras championship. Good times indeed.

I can't believe Chisnall managed to come from 4-1 down and beat Hankey 5-4.

That's so fucking awesome.

He won then?

It was live on BBC2, then they ran out of time to show it at 4-4, with Chisnall 1-0 in the decider. A panicky Colin Murray was screaming "Go to the Red Button", but obviously I can't...

Then feel asleep before the highlights started on BBC2.

TBH, if that had happened on ITV, we'd all be bitching about it so.... BAD SHOW BBC!

The BBC should make a decision for Jesus, you either cover the darts or let someone else do it...it's been a bit of a disgrace really.

The Hankey match was brilliant, the championship looks like Chisnall's to lose.
