Before you all start with your Emo toss about 'you should just make changes to your life when you're ready and not just at New Year' I'd like to say, 'fuck off this is my thread'. I'd also like to say that Mrs Z and I quit smoking 4 (or is it 5?) years ago this Jan :metul: If I can do it anyone can.

I need to kick myself up the arse to do more arty farty work at home so I'm looking at the New Year as a chance to get the ball rolling. Plan on painting at least 1 canvas and 2 digital illustrations a month to start with. Also, finish adding new content to my new look website so I can get the fucker hosted.

My belly needs to GTFF, going to be better at absorbing less fatty cack and be more active.

We just did it cold turkey. More money to buy treats than spunking it all on patches/gum.

I found lolly pops where the best thing to eat as they occupied my hand.

My knob was in tatters before that.

Oh yeah, that. I should be in the clear at some point in 2010, if I keep giving myself the £25 a week 'me' money I've been doing for months now. Getting an insurance payout for my lost earnings and injury would instantly do it, though.

Also: keep pushing hard at my work and get a proper raise. We're on the verge of landing a £250,000 contract, so I need to keep at it to make sure I'm good enough to hold my end of the workload. Being in a company of four, mind, and that amount of money is sure to give me a fairly decent raise.

1: Take a photo that I feel is awesome enough to win a competition. Enter it into competition. Eliminate competition.

2: Go to America two more times next year. Three if poss.

3: Buy bounce flashgun and cynically set self up as 'teh official Cardiff gig photographer'. Get free beer as result from grateful bands and clubs.

4: Go to more classical concerts, in Bristol if need be.

5: Stop eating crisps every lunch with sarnie or stop eating Twixes with my morning cuppa - one or the other!

6: Swim every Sunday possible.

7: Resolve to give up MMO's as they're a staggering waste of time in actual fact. Yes, I know you can explore all of Middle Earth and it's ace, but... but c'mon! Who has time anymore?

8: Start learning how to make pastry based food to add to my cooking repetoire.

1. Do more stuff with the boys that doesn't involve Sky/xbox/PS3

2. Lose a stone.

3. Save £8k

4. Book a holiday some where hot.

5. Actually quit smoking, my faux attempt last week lasted until I got back to work, so I figured the 2 weeks I have off now should do it. Maybe.

thinking back, last year's resolution was 'get to 2k gamerscore'. Pissed that, so this year it's 'catch and pass Dimrill and aim for Bluce_Ree'

1. Pay off debts.
This should be easy, as I'm currently £16K in the hole and by the 31st of December I'll be £20K richer than I am today. In fact, I can probably do this one this year.

1a. Start saving.
Should be easy too, as I'll be about £600 a month better off once all my debt payments are no longer in the equation.

2. Move house.
I really need somewhere bigger, and I want somewhere with a proper driveway (and a garage, ideally). Central heating is a must.

3. Stop/slow down working freelance.
I burned myself out this year by taking on too much freelance work, which meant I was working 9-6 during the day and 6.30-12 most nights.

4. Put on weight.
I'm too thin. I need to put on at least two stone to be comfortable.

5. Do more trackdays and improve my driving.
I've done a few trackdays this year but my driving is utterly shit, slow slow slow. Need to improve.

Easy - get your parents to sell the house that they bought for £12,000 in 1983, for £120,000 and then get them to split the profit from that between you and your siblings ;)

I resolve to:-

Finish writing my rock opera
Start and finish recording my rock opera
Play more drums... Well, not more.. just play the same drums.. just more often.
Actually pull my thumb out of my bottom and get round to doing all the DIY jobs in my house that I didn't do in 2009.
Clear my garden
Walk around bare foot more often. I realised the other day that I don't do this as often as I used to.

And probably loads more things that I'll never actually get around to doing.

Pretty simple for 2010:
Get out of debt - doable at a push
Get a new car - by April
Move house - sooner rather than later please
Lose seven stone - ongoing of course, but needs doing.
Having a good clear out of the house, got a lot done this year so I'm happy it'll get finished soon next year.

Think (hope) that's it. I'm not too bothered about going away or anything, I'm quite happy pootling around the country meeting up with you lot every now and again and want to move more.
