Given the high proportion of nerds on here I expect an equally high proportion of Logitech Harmony (or similar) remote ownership.

So.

How to I make "back up" from the Sky remote work properly on the Harmony and be the little turny around arrow button then?

Ummm, just map it in the Harmony app...? Against the activity, do Customise Buttons, select the button, and map it to the Back function of the Sky remote.

Yup, sounds like Doctor Glyndwr's fault, he seems to know how to fix it. Does he have shifty eyes?

It is. Despite using one at his house and finding it to be shit EVERY TIME. I bought one.

Yes. This problem is threefold:
1) You have to teach the Harmony "back up" and "Sky"
2) You have to custom map the buttons in Devices
3) You have to custom map the buttons in the Activity

And stop turning my 360 on every time I ask you to do anything Harmony!!!

This! And if I'm programming something to record on the media centre, don't decide to tell the 360 to start up the media centre app and try and replicate all the same button presses with random effects!

Apologies if you're aware of this already but on the 360 system settings, there's a remote control setting with the option to respond to both 360 and media centre remotes or just the 360 remote. It sounds like choosing the latter option might help you?

It's stopped doing it now. I have no idea what it was all about. I did customise the buttons to put A B X Y in to navigate the menus properly but didn't touch the power setting. Odd. I wonder if it had got into a situation where the remote thought the 360 was on so it tried to turn it off. But it was actually off, so it turned it on!
