A Devil May Cry-style third-person shooter with a female protagonist with shotguns in her high heels and magic powers that revolve around using her ridiculously long hair as a weapon... and who also appears to use her hair as clothing, meaning she's practically naked during the most powerful special moves. And optional leg mounted rocket launchers. Platinum Games certainly know how to give the kids what they want, don't they? The "pause SF2 to see if you can see Chun Li's pants during the Spinning Bird Kick" crowd will love this.

This game looks very embarrassing to be caught playing, but also looks awesome.

Perhaps they should rename this "Slutty bride of Satan gets 'em out for the lads"? Pehaps not.

A more pipe smoking question: In Japanese culture are demons/devils not necessarily viewed as evil? They seem to pop up in all manner of games/manga/filims etc. and some of the devils/demons depicted are bigger do-gooders than your local Christian youth group.

From what I remember, A lot of people in Japan find the whole christian idea of devils, demons and angels really entertaining. They thinks it is really 'cool' and bizarre. Thats why so much japanese manga contains christian imagery.

It's a bit like how we make loads of stuff about Greek mythology, because we find it really interesting.

Traditional japanese mythology held that most natural objects - rocks, trees, waterfalls - and even man-made structures like houses would all often have an intrinsic spirit dwelling within it. These spirits had personalities as varied as humans, so might be malignant or helpful or indifferent. These are much closer to the Greek word daemon (meaning a spritual helper) rather than the word demon (always with negative associations) that derive from it.

In a way I'm glad it's not released until Jan. It gives me time to finish Borderlands and get more MW2 & Fortsar3 time in.

Devil May Cry 4 (or 3? the last one i mean) was probably the most boring game I've ever played. So no thanks. Besides, its aesthetics are too embarrassing, even for japanese standards.

DMC4 was an abomination, with the worst 'camera' use in any game I can remember playing.

As such, I am predisposed to dislike this game, though all the reviews make it sound ace.

So I'm torn.
