I found MSE quite bloaty, I have stuck with Comodo/Sophos

I'll check it out although I'm a bit reluctant to stop using AVG as that's all I've ever used and never had a virus problem.

Doesn't it come from the same page as the other? Cos that's where I installed it from on my Win7 x64 and it didn't moan.

Yey! That's good enough for me. I, as an IT guy who sees too many abused laptops, would be happy to see the end of Norton.

The amount of people who have an expired copy of Norton clogging up their install is astounding.

Even an uninstalled copy of Norton has caused me problems in the past. Had to use the removal tool to clear the stuff it leaves behind.

Yes. I put it on my Dad's netbook with XP. Feels less intrusive than the ageing Uni licenced Sophos that was on there. I may use it myself.

Well I've been running this alongside Avast for a couple of weeks now.

A few months ago I got a nasty virus called 'Virut32B' (or similar) and I had to reinstall all of Windows. Last night I went digging around in the archive of old files for a video, and it popped its head up again.

Except MSE caught it, and Avast sat there silently, despite both of them being right up to date.

Score one for Microsoft Security Essentials.
