A combination of
-the style (I know it's what you'd use on an iphone and the like, but on a full sized screen, it's not so good)
-The lack of avatars to give any kind of easy reference
-The requirement for short posts.

Well I was aiming for disorientation and confusion, so that worked fine. Admittedly I was considering a player limit of about 10, but forgot to tell Grim... that, and before I realised he had 20+ signups! Ne'er mind.

You didn't know :D This does mean I need to write, in theory, 23 death scenes.

Thinking on, if I could have a do-over, I'd give each player a unique initial and an autogenerated avatar of their initial against a distinct colour backdrop. Live and learn. We'll just have to quickly off some players to reduce the headcount, eh?

From an outsiders respective, it's just a bit too much effort. It might be different if I was playing.

Yeah, you might well be right, Dave. It might be too much work inside the game too but I'm aiming for people to enjoy the ride more than play the game absoutely to be won, if that makes sense.

As we said at the start: this is all alpha grade.

Still, it's going far, far better than I thought it might.

I note Thomas is in the red on the counter.

If I were him, I'd be feeling a little worried that running out of texts didn't only mean that he could post no more.

I imagine that Thomas and Liz are currently less than impressed with being unable to say anything. Or vote. (Only 21 possible votes)

Gaywood, who is doing this death, has (I shit you not) had to delay it to make his colleague a cup of tea.

Would it be possible to have red text or something similar to signify descriptions and similar OOC stuff.

It would flow a little better.

It's mafiascum on crack. Nobody even accused me or tried to work out if anyone was manipulating things, just piled on in.

Nobody blinked at the the direct relationship between most posts and most votes.

Very few showed that they had the first clue of how it was (fairly obviously) going to work out.

Nobody backed off at all when me and liz ran out of texts. Total lord of the rings shit!

Excellent set-up though, must have taken a bit of work - nice one.

I have to say, I had my doubts about if this concept would fly when Grim... and I cooked it up. But I am overjoyed at how it's gone so far. Lots of people are really getting into the spirit of things.

Aye, some people are really going for it, I like Vicky and Caroline especially.

Are the helpers the only "group" then, I was thinking we had helpers (who don't kill at night) and one or more serial killers or something.

I'm not going to give too much away yet. There are power roles. But they are all mixed up, compared to what you'd expect from MafiaScum.
