Was never a big fan of the original. Any one excited about this?

The little screenshot on that page looks hideous.

It's horrible.

The controls are sluggish, the music is gash, the rainbows don't break right, the levels are too long and it feels like an upside-down Mr Driller for some reason.

It's ugly as well. Really ugly.

I liked the original, but from what Bluce said this is just another Bubble Bobble NEO :'(

I'll stick to playing it on MAME.

I was dead excited when I saw this thread, but reading all your posts makes me infinitely sadder than I ever was before :'(

Is it on a deal or something? Or just standard XBLA price? Demo available? I really really want to like it, a copy of this came with my Amiga back in 1991 or so and I was still playing it happily until I went to Uni in 98 :luv:

It made me very very angry. The only similarity is the name.

Doesn't look that ugly to me... although I wouldn't want my character to have pixie ears.

If it looks cheap I'll probably buy it anyway and join Craig's angry club :(

But pixie ears > my actual ears :(

File this in the same folder of ABOMINATIONS with Bubble Bobble NEO and the recent Puzzle Bobble, both of which were SHIT. DE-File, in fact! Because that's what they've done? DYFSWIDT?

Play the demo and see if you have the will to mock. I at least hoped that they would include a faithful port of the original, but hell no.

Maybe it's like the LHD & goes back in time to ruin itself as it's an affront on nature.

if it is on Wiiware it's certainly shit. I gave up on torrenting wiiware games. Their quality is below freeware. How can people pay for 8 or 10 euros for those games is beyond me.

Lost Winds was pretty but boring and Gradius rebirth was fun but pointless as there are many better shmups on MAME. And these were the only above-crap games that i played.

So far I've bought Gradius Rebirth and the Devil Crush remake type thing and I thought both we're pretty good.

Ok, I played the trial version. It's not that bad. It just isn't worth spending any money on.

Rainbow Islands is one of the best games ever made. Releasing a 'Rainbow Islands' game and it being a mediocre platform game is a very bad thing. It's like Wyclef Jean's remix of Another One Bites the Dust.

I recommend any Wii owners wanting a fix of RI to play the still brilliant Megadrive version on a Homebrew Channel emulator.

I played it again to be sure I wasn't wrong. The 'Evil Dr Crescent' needs to fuck off, why the hell doesn't he just go fight Holly's Comet directly?*

And how has someone built this tower if there's no elevator to get to the top?**

It remains a serious BLEH from me.

*because he's evil, obv.

Of course Agency Tower had a lift! It was just that because of all the steroids and other chemicals used to create your agent, he stank. He wasn't allowed indoors due to the prohibitive cost of Oust.

That and the time when the agent tripped on a loose carpet tile and put a wall through.

I was going to say that his preposterous shoulders wouldn't fit through the vary obvious little hatch that you do see when you finally attain that height of such magnitude.

But yes, I suppose Crackie would whiff a bit. That's what makes the baddies fall over when he picks up a bus - his armpits.

It's about time they fixed that carpet. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find a Claims Direct letter on the doormat if I was Mr Crackie.
