I am growing a moustache this year for Movember. I have decided to put down my razor for one month (November) and help raise awareness and funds for men’s health – specifically prostate cancer.

What many people don’t appreciate is that one man dies every hour of prostate cancer in the UK, more than 35,000 men will be diagnosed this year and that prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK. Facts like these have convinced me I should get involved and I am hoping that you will support me.

My eyes are slightly larger than most peoples but i seem unable to take a photo of myself close up without going all googly. I'll try and take a better one tonight.

I've not shaved for two weeks. I'm starting to look like a tramp.

I've not not-shaved because of Movember, I'm just a lazy fuck and work don't appear to care.

It's weird, because my head-hair grows awesomely, isn't receding and is only showing tentative signs of greyness.

All the hair on your body and head apart from your scalp is pubic hair so your beard growth has nothing to do with how much your scalp hair grows and more to do with latent testosterone and genetics.

I also havent shaved for a week. I have two unfortunate 'bald' patches on my cheeks that will forever prevent me from having a fine full beard though. Sigh.

I have a stripe that runs straight down my throat from just under my chin that doesn't grow any hair at all.

It'd be an awesome beard if the rest of it worked properly.

You do get hairier as you get older, so I was told many many years ago. I can confirm this personally, but cannot speak for everyone. I've also heard that cod liver oil promotes body hair growth as well as allegedly being good for the joints My beard is going grey nowadays so I look like a bum if I let it grow for more than a week.

I haven't shaved for a month, my beard is getting quite messy - although it is keeping my face nice and warm these chilly mornings. Fortunately it's quite a full beard, but I'm not sure if it distracts from, or just accentuates the thinning hair up top.

TS should grow a complete beard. There'd be just two little eyes peeking out of a mass of hair.
