Should be good for a laugh, anyway....

It won't get as big a market as the female contraceptive pill for a long time if it actually succeeds, but there'll be a lot of men who don't want to use a condom and don't hate needles.

You'd need a special card to prove you'd had an injection recently though.

Actually, I completely forgot about the benefits of condoms for the prevention of STDs. This injection won't be replacing the condom any time soon.

Would a couple not go down the route of getting the man to have a vasectomy though, and having to visit the hospital only two or three times, rather than 6 times a year until his balls dry up of natural accord?

This is quite a bit more reversible than a vasectomy, isn't it? Does anyone really believe that having someone go at your bawlbag with a scalpel is really reversible?

A bloke I used to work with managed to get an infection just after his op - I didn't push for further detail.

Well, if a daily pill is an issue for the woman, there's quarterly injections just like this one for women, or a slow-release implant that lasts 2 years.

I have been warned of this. Still, would be off work for a few days due to not being able to drive, so that's a benefit.

I was not ignoring the injection for the ladies, I just would be interested in this alternative..

I'm not really keen on this kind of thing, to be honest. I'd not trust anything that mucks with your hormones that much without medical necessity. That includes the pill.
