I'm pondering this. It's on offer until Oct 2nd. Would anyone be interested in splitting the four-game pack?

http://store.steampowered.com/app/500/

Not sure I'd play it much, but I'd like to look at the third party mods, and for less than a tenner...

Minimum:

* Supported OS: Microsoft Windows XP / Vista / Vista64
* Processor: Pentium 4 3.0GHz
* Memory: 1 GB
* Graphics: 128 MB, Shader model 2.0, ATI 9600, NVidia 6600 or better
* Hard Drive: At least 7.5 GB of free space
* Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

Recommended:

* Supported OS: Microsoft Windows XP / Vista / Vista64
* Processor: Intel core 2 duo 2.4GHz
* Memory: 1 GB
* Graphics: Shader model 3.0, NVidia 7600, ATI X1600 or better

I already have the game so if you are playing any versus matches or someone is missing I would be up for some of that.

I find playing with totally random members of the gaming public to not be much fun.

Wow. So, can you buy the four-pack, and gift three copies to us, and we Paypal you?

Edit -- although that's only £5 or so cheaper, so maybe not worth the hassle.

I'm tempted, but the glorious dawn of the age of the Bedroom XBox means I'm not playing so much on the PC.

When you've got five people in the house all fighting for use of the front-room telly, the chance to go and play/watch what you want when you want from time to time is a Good Thing.

I don't actually play games in my bedroom, I might add. It is technically a bedroom, though, even though it doesn't have a bed in it.

it would worth it, but i rarely use paypal (i usually only buy stuff from play.com), so i wouldn't know what to do with the credits.

from the 1000 job interviews i went i only got lucky in one. And it was an offer that i ended up declining (something i really regret but that's besides the point). I always got jobs from someone who knew someone who knew someone who knew someone that needed someone. And nowadays i don't know anyone.

Has anyone ever set up a Beex group on Steam? If not I dont mind setting one up...it would be useful for Beex steam users to get together.

Ruysan, just buy it, youre more than welcome to join in with me and my mates...we play vs most nights and its top fun.

B, but with the PC version you can play with the mods...such as this one which replaces some of the common infected with the Teletubbies.

Poor you.

Controllers really weren't made for FPS games.

Just a statement of fact. I know people who play FPS with a controller on the PC but they will always be having an inferior experience.

It was not an anti console comment but I can see how you might have construed it as being one. I find it hard not to post when people say such things but this is the last time I will mention the subject as I would not like to be thought of as a stirrer.

I do prefer to wise a mouse and keyboard, but to be fiar I have not used a controller for any lenght of time.

I only bought one (ps2 style) when the wife bought me a game (a spiderman one) which I just did not have enough fingers or hands to use a keyboard and mouse :)

We've had this discussion many a time before, and it's nonsense, that's why. Yes, you can aim better and quicker with your million dpi mouse, but what you can't dispute is that some of us find it a better gaming experience. I find spending hours with my hand cramped up in the WASD position quite painful, and I've never had that problem with a controller.

It's come across as stirring because you've brought it up previously, and it comes across as quite arrogant and dismissive. I've played hundreds of hours with both types of input and know what I prefer. Most people (not saying you are one of them, but it's highly likely) who say you can't enjoy playing FPS games with a controller are people who've played hundreds of hours with a mouse and played Halo on the Xbox once at their friend's house in 2002.

It is not a statement of fact, it's your opinion.

You're right, but hey I played on a PC for years before I bought a PS2 & amusingly pads work better for me.

Presumably they don't stand a chance in PvP though :DD

That's just nonsense though, the experience is entirely subjective. I've never played with a pad on the PC but I have played shitloads of shooters on the PC and after playing quite a lot on the 360 have now come to the same conclusion as Wullie and myp that I prefer the pad, it just feels better.
