Yep. Why, is that expensive or something? Certainly a lot cheaper than forgetting and having MS slice it off the registered card every year.

I'm sure I renewed it at £25 for 13 months last year.

I paid £27.99 for mine (12 months). I feel like I got mugged now :'(

The prices on these fluctuate quite a bit , I paid about 25 for my first 12 months

When renewal time came up i found most places were up to 29 but found one for 28 which gave me 13 months

What was nice about them both was i just got an email with the code instead of another box posted with a card which you read the code from then chuck in the bin.

This is why I'll pay slightly over the odds for MS points from Shopto.net or buy them straight from the dash, as I don't get a ridiculous DVD case to dispose of.

It's frankly shocking that the EU allows Microsoft to do it.

I APPROVE.

Although, the last time I bought a 'digital delivery' chunk of points, I was emailed a scan of the card. So *someone* is throwing a plastic case away.

Not always. People who buy them wholesale to sell online just get the cards. Those dodgy-looking ones from eBay, for example (that actually end up being ok).

Yeah, I've had that too. I *think* someone said that those vendors can buy the cards without the cases, in bulk like, but I'm not terribly convinced.

[edit] Also myp said it while I was typing this.

As so many of you use the points and the live... could you not set one of you up as a dealer/trader?

Depends what proof-of-being-a-business is needed. VAT registration (or filling in a return or something) and that. Probably not worth it.

Good idea though (and the same idea applies to PSN cards).

But if they'll only supply to a business registered at Companies House or something, that'll be £150 set-up, or however that works. Unless someone on here with a pre-existing business fancied branching out.

It's also possible you just ring the packers and say "can you send me a wodge of cards please?" - though they could well answer "certainly sir, how many thousands of each do you want?"

More importantly, there's probably some minimum order size of thousands of cards before any of the distributers will look at you.

I think the problem is you have to buy silly quantities for the price to come down.

A quick bit of searching finds thewholesaleforums.co.uk where the first Xbox related thread I looked at has 4200 point cards for £28.60 each with a minimum order of 5. Is that a good price?

That's someone selling scans, not just sending out cards.

Even if you go up to 50 cards (which I think we'd struggle to get through in a reasonable timeframe here, to be honest) the price is still over £28 each, so it's probably not worth the hassle.

It was £11.99 for 2100 after the fiver off at Game (my only frame of reference; I imagine the original £16.99 was poor), so not that good. Maybe that was a bargain, even if the Live sub wasn't so much.

It's an OK price. You can usually find 2100 cards for £15 - £15.50 without looking too hard. I've never seen much below £14.50 or so for 2100 points (apart from voucher shenanigans like the start of this thread).

Also, 12 months of live-age for £22.11 each, if you buy 5.

I'll need to renew my sub soon so would be up for doing a bulk order if we've got 4 or more others.
Again, if that's actually a good price - I think most people are getting 13 months for only slightly more so maybe not.

Now that is a good price, cheapest I could get when I last renewed was £30 for 12 months -- live sub prices have edged up over the last few years. I'd be in for that.

Found it, you have to click "marketplace" at the top first, then "my account". Mine runs out next month.

These codes look like being about £23 each by the time it's been through PayPal currency conversion.
