Hello chums.

Just thought I'd share this site with you. If you have a pen, some paper, a printer and scanner you can make a font from your handwriting. I have seen things like this before, but they always cost real-life moolah. This one, though, is free, and I think it works rather well.

This took me about five minutes, maximum. Most of that time was spent drawing little pictures, though.

Very cool. Sadly my handwriting looks like shit so I may aswell scribble in paint.

Actually, I think with something like this the more messy and random your handwriting the better it looks, which is why I made a conscious effort to scribble it quickly rather than write it in 'neat' handwriting. I wanted it to look like when I scribble a quick note.

Me too! As far as I am concerned as soon as we get to September I am allowed to start looking forward to the whole Winter/birthday/ Christmas/new year thing. It comes from going back to school - Up until September the shops were always full of uniforms and coloured pencils, as soon as everyone was back and uniformed up, that was cleared for wrapping paper. My family never had much money, so buying things like that generally started with a few little bits and pieces just then, so it wasn't an expense all at once. As a child as soon as I was back at school the next meaningful occurrance was the winter holidays, so in my head I was counting down to the fun of that time of year. it just gave (and still does give) me something to look forward to. Drives Craig bonkers, though.

I totally look forward to Christmas immediatly after summer as well. I once made Christmas dinner for my friends (I'm talking the whole nine yards, starter, soup, main with roast potatoes and stuffing and a trifle) in September, including crackers. My birthday is in winter as well so I think it makes me love it more. Also, my parents didn't spend much on us at Christmas so I used to choose things out of the argos catalogue in Septemeber whilst listening to Cliff Richard, 'Miseltoe and WIne'.

I raided those a few months ago, there's some good ones on there. I don't quite think it is as nice as having a font in your own handwriting, though. It's only a silly thing, but I like being able to type away on a word-processor in my own handwriting. For personal things it just seems so... well, personal! I just thought as it was free it was a fun little thing people might enjoy doing if they had ten minutes to kill.

I love your handwriting Meems, whenever I get a note in something off you it makes me smile, you have 'happy writing'.

Jesus, you don't want to see me efforts at neat then.

After so many years of working on computers my handwriting has now deteriorated to the point where very often even I can't read it. I go to meetings, make notes and then when I come back to them days later I have to spend half an hour piecing it all together like some kind of archaeologist deciphering an incomplete and mysterious ancient text.

I had to write a cheque the other day. It made my wrist ache.
