I saw that probably about a year ago, aye. Very interesting. It must be Crippen week on Crime, as he's all over the shop.

Yeah he was a doctor from the U.S. Came over here to practice but his bird was a fuckin PITA. Fat ugly dog who wanted to be an actress. She threatened to leave him so he found a new bird.. Then she went for a burton and the police were determined to charge him.

So they searched his house for, get this, three months and then one day they turn up the bricks on the cellar floor and find some misc body parts. They accused him of poisoning his wife and then butchering her and burying some of her body parts under the cellar floor.

Crippen was found guilty and hanged at Pentonville prison..

However.. What they negated to tell anyone prior to the documentary.

Crippen's wife was a fat slag and spunked all his dough. A month or so before her dissapearance she tried to empty the joint marital bank account. A month before she left she called for a shipping company to take five trunks.

If Crippen really poisoned his ex wife why cut her up? normally poisoners try to evade anything like and and pretend the person died of natural causes.

Where were the rest of the remains? no head, no torso, no legs, no arms, no fingers hands feet or toes. All they found were some innards (liver, intestines, stomach which they claim to have found poison in).

So any way, yeah, the remains were male. They also tracked some of his wife's descendants from Cali and the DNA was not a match.

They do have hair samples found in there, but thus far the UK govt will not release them for analysis/DNA testing. If they did I would strongly imagine that they would be of a different DNA type to the body parts AND his wife.

She was rumoured to be seen in NY 10 months after her supposed death at the hands of Crippen.

I reakon the police planted the shit tbh. I mean, how could you not smell rotting body parts if they were there a total of months? cripes, within a week you'd puke at one whiff.

I reakon after their failure to catch Jack The Ripper this time they were determined to come up with a killer etc.

So, Crippen is looking to be innocent. Poor cunt. His body is buried at Pentonville and his family are rallying for it to be released so he can be buried with his grand parents. He's also been on display at Madamme Tussards (sic?) for about 80 years. And the poor cunt could be innocent.

Crazy.

Although fucking off to America, in disguise, with with his new bit of totty doesn't sound like the actions of an entirely innocent man. Also, if the remains weren't those of Mrs. Crippen, she certainly didn't turn up later alive and well...

Oh agreed, but at least he gave an explanation for that.

Apparently he was too embarassed. She was a lot younger than him..

She didn't turn up because if (and it's highly likely) she fucked off back to the USA and changed her name in those days she would be un tracable.

Infact, if I fucked off back to the USA now I would be un tracable knowing the places I could hide.. Sure, they would know I had left, but they would never find me. I know people in at least ten states I could live with and never be found. And back then it was simple and easy to get a fake passport/name.

BTW. It was also known fact that he wasn't doing too well financially in the UK any more due to his medicine becoming out dated.

I reakon he waited for his wife to fuck off and then decided to make good back to the USA with his new tart.

But was Mrs. Crippen such a cold bitch that she'd fuck off and then leave her husband to hang? Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and all of that, except that she was doing the dirty too (according to that program) and she would have heard of the case no matter where she was - she didn't seem like the sort of person to throw it all in and go and live in a cave in outer Mongolia.

I reckon he was as guilty as sin. The Police may well have fabricated evidence, which they've done before, but just because they did doesn't mean he wasn't guilty...

I think they had drifted apart long before he found someone else. Infact I think that's why he did. He was basically a quiet mild mannered doctor and she was an extrovert wannabe actress (fat chance, literally :DD )

Apparently she was heard of in NY under her 'stage name' about ten months after he was hanged, though this has not been confirmed. Her family are now in Cali.. Possible she fucked off to Hollywood?

As I say, in those days it was very easy to dissapear into the USA. It's a fuckin big place. My point was if you didn't want to be found there you wouldn't be, and that includes now.

And, I am always one to believe in innocent until proven guilty. He was hanged for killing his wife of which there is simply and absolutely 0% evidence. And I mean, nothing.

Ah, but we don't have evidence that this was the case. All we know is that she vanished without a trace and I think that if she wasn't murdered and did indeed just bugger off, someone would have known and blabbed the story to the press.

Which he was, in a court of law by a jury. I think programs like that and re-evaluating old cases is interesting, but it does give an impression that all justice in the past was a lottery before forensic (and especially genetic) science entered the scene. Sure, these are important tools, but so are eye-witness statements and police interviews. And modern science is by no mean infallible when analysing fresh evidence, let alone evidence almost 100 years old.

It emerges that neighbours had suspicions and had alerted the police but the police failed to act. Now that's a failing in policing.

However, it's a different set of circumstances (unless Mrs. Crippen was kidnapped, but Dr. C never mentioned this...). If Mrs. C had disappeared off into the sunset she would have eventually told at least one of her friends. Women talk and they confide and people blab - they can't help themselves.

Let's just clear something up, he wasn't a doctor really and certainly didn't sell medicine. He was a homeopathic quack.
