I suddenly want to play an Aliens computer game.
It must be like Gear of War 2, with a story mode, but also versus and horde modes.

It must have:
* Pulse-rifles
* Grenade launchers
* Rescuing Newt
* Setting up Robot Sentry Guns
* Driving the APC
* Aliens
* A nuclear atmosphere processor thing which may blow up
* An Queen Alien
* Driving the spaceship
* Resilient android team-member
* Being in the pipe 5 by 5

It must be on the Xbox360.

Thank you.

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4243 is the closest you'll get at the moment.

I remember playing Aliens on the C64. About the only thing on your list that was in it are Pulse Rifles though. No wait. It had queen alien and resiliant android aswell. I take the AvP games don't suit your needs?

I did have a PS1 Alien Trilogy game. It was a wee bit dull though.

I guess the AvP games were on PC or something, I've not really heard of them before, except that new one that Grim... mentioned, and it's not out till next year I believe.

I'll try the new AvP, especially if it has bezzie possibilities, but it's not quite what I asked for: story-mode play-though following the actual Aliens (director's cut) film.

Colonial Marines is out next year, after AvP. It promises to be aces.

AvP was really awesome. A right bastard to get working in this day and age though. AvP2 sits a bit more contentedly on todays hardware.

Really? AvP Gold Edition runs flawlessly on every computer I've tried it on since I got the game back in 2000-ish. Perhaps they updated it for the Gold Edition or something.

OK, that's pretty close to what I wanted. Just a shame it's not set on the LV-426 colony, using the Aliens story.

Could be. I got the original version. It ran but constantly froze and graphically glitched for me. It would also only run under Windows 95 comaptibility mode.

Annoyingly, the only reason it's out next year and not next month is because Sega decided to release the new AvP before it and don't want to saturate the market with two Alien games at the same time. Cunts.

Having said that, if AvP is anything like the old ones, we're in for a treat there as well.

Then they'll release Aliens vs Predator vs Shadow the Hedgehog

I bought a PC over 10 years ago (I think) and it cost me 500 quid and the only thing I really wanted to do on it was play AvP Gold. It didn't work and I ended up having to put in a 3D Voodoo card thing in with the regular card and join them using a lead thing.

Then it worked and I came acid oil all over my chops.

Just play the Aliens arcade game in MAME. It's great, especially Ripley's echoing 'HURRRRrrrrr!' when she dies. And the mutated humans (just like in the movie) and the bit where Newt gets carried away by a flying alien (just like in the movie).

One of my favourite lines from all time. Especially when you consider that it doesn't really mean anything, both in the context of the file and out.

It's used to describe the quality of a radio transmission. The first number is signal strength, the second vocal clarity. Five by five is the best it can be.

All of that, but must also have:

* Game over, man, GAME OVER!
* Stow it, Hudson.
* Keep it frosty, people.
* I feel safer already.

Course it does - "in the pipe" means "in the optimal path for making a controlled descent to the surface" and "5 by 5" means... err... means err... the velocity of the dropship matched with it's expected flight time.

'Tis, aye. Also the first Hollywood movie of one of my all-time favourite directors. A very dissappointing experience all round, I'd say.

You've obviously never seen Watchmen then. You'll think it's lovely but then you'll open your eyes & freak out at your multiple girlfriends, then go into the hall & find your girlfriend playing with her big metal ball.

Yes: Minge like Predators mouth.

EDIT: Er no, not his lower half. The suggestion is that Predators mouth looks like a nasty lady garden.
