MaliA's legendary 'bad guy griefer' status has met with tolerant, fond glances from me and ruffling of hair, perhaps with a roll of the eyes and an amused Gallic shrug...

My face is now frozen with humourless Teutonic sobriety and anger at these cruel and crass words.

Firefly is awesome. And it still hurts.

No. It was cancelled before I saw it, and that made me sad so I never got around to watching it. However I am trying to correct this. I watched half an episode on SciFi a few months ago but it was in 4:3 SD and looked terrible. The Bluray isn't out over here and is £50 to import, so I have a 42Gb torrent (!) downloading.

Go fetch one. Make them sit down and watch Firefly with you. Then answer the poll.

I believe I got the self same torrent.

The HD-ness is ok. Most of the CGI looks ropey in HD, but the live-action stuff is great. Also, since it's a TV-Rip (or mine was) there's an odd opening narration and breaks for ads, which you didn't get on the DVD (obv)

I have an XBox 360 Premium and a HDMI lead going into my tellybox in teh HDMI thingy. Are my dvds now HD? Or do I need to buy HD DVDs. or what? Also, when sky advertise their HD stuffs on the telly, is that in HD? The Sky man did try to explain stuff to me, but I glazed over.

The DVDs will upscale to the TVs resolution, but they're not technically HD as the detail isn't there. For true HD you need a Blu-Ray, HD-DVD or *spit* Sky HD source

It had an add-on. But HD-DVDs are different disks anyway, it's not something that magically upgrades DVDs you own.

So, currently:

My out of the box XBox 360 Premium is not a HD DVD player, even if I did have the discs?

Correct.
£13, though: http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Hardware/ ... DVD-Drive/
And the films are like £3 each.
