I'm right handed, but I wear my watch on my right hand (like a left handed person normally would) and also hold my knife and fork the way a left handed person would (knife in the left, fork in the right).

I found out recently that my grandmother and nephew also do this, wonder if it's a funny gene somewhere . . .

I, too, am 100% right handed, but hold my fork in my right. Furthermore, I don't understand the fork-in-left thing. Every right handed person I know naturally eats with a spoon in their right hand; that just feels right. And a spoon is much more like a fork than it is like a knife. So when moving from (say) soup to main course, why swap the "scooping implement that goes in your mouth" from right to left hand? It's madness.

I explained this to an old boss once and he almost forgot how to eat.

Perhaps it's more to do with the knife? If you need to cut something up, it makes sense to do that with your strongest and steadiest hand. If I was just using a fork I'd use my right hand though.

Most people are too spack-handed to use a knife competently in their weaker hand.

I was pretty much 100% right-handed until I broke my right arm. Twice. You start to become quite ambidextrous when you've spent an accumulative total of about four months with one arm.
