With its 4.8 litre BMW V8 engine, the Morgan AeroMax is capable of speeds of up to 170mph. It is hand-built in a style reminiscent of luxury cars from the 1930s and some have compared it to the Batmobile in the recent Batman films.

Which people, blind ones?

I think it's more to do with the fact that Jeremy Clarkson has a submarine that looks like the Penguin's

It looks most like the Animated Series Batmobiles, followed by the Burton Batmobile.

Unless... unlesss... around 1989 a mysterious time vortex opened up in the area of the crash, whereby the local populace had access to the World of the Future!, but only in the field of motoring accidents and journalists, and could relate to Journalists of the Future! only in terms of reference that they understood at the time.

Either that, or sloppy journalism.

I agree with end of era sloppy journos, as the description of the car could have been done at any time...

I think they called it the Batmobile on Top Gear when they reviewd it..

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/carreviews ... romax.html

Quote:
When Batman is getting ready to order his next car, he may want to drop in on Morgan. For the first time ever, the British manufacturer has come up with a machine which – complete with its jaw-dropping Batmobile-style rear end

Yes very sloppy indeed, looks like they used a 2006 Autoexpress review :)

It would be a lot more interesting. I'll settle happily for an ugly car being off the road, though.

I tried watching Total Wipeout last night. He isn't a very good presenter, at least not for that. The American version is much better. Still not a very good show, mind.

Morgans are lovely, you philistine. Not so keen on the AeroMax, but the normal ones are very nice. Plus they're British! *thumps chest*

Much nicer than the chavtastic Caterham.

He's not, no. I met him at Crufts tumtetum years ago when he was presenting it. His dogs were lovely.

As well it should be. They resisted John Harvey-Jones's exhortations to modernise, and did very well.

Peter Morgan is spinning in his grave due to your comments, the Sun has reported today.

Maybe my opinion has been coloured by the fact that when we went camping in Derbyshire a couple of months ago, there were some twats doing doughnuts in three of them on the opposite side of the field, then steadfastly watching us as they drove past us onto the road as if we should be paying all our attention on them. Twats.

Then some Morgan drivers turned up and they were a lot more classy. Near death, but classy all the same.

Looks wildly un-aerodynamic, bafflingly uses front wheel drive, and has a superfluous hydrogen tank bodged on the back.
Otherwise, it does look very nice, I agree. Basically an AeroMax with wheel covers though, isn't it?

They go into huge detail about the work they've done to make it aerodynamic - and all the documentation says it's 4WD.

Oh, fair enough, the drawing only shows the front end.

I'm sure it is really aerodynamic, for a 30s roadster.

Good effort, I dread to think what it costs..
