Coming from her that's incredibly rich, seeing as in her interview the other week (the final straw for me) she was coming out with words that didn't even fucking exist.

I had a discussion I know the other day with a girl called Lisa that I used to go to school with. Now Lisa was a very bright and intelligent girl. She thought Katie Price was inspirational so we kinda got into a debate over fake tits, acting like a slag and dressing like a whore. As my final attack I said to her "Lisa. You have two little girls now. Would you want them turning out like her?"

She's certainly picked a novel way of alienating a good proportion of the population - both male and female - and at any rate her perception of the problem is faulty.

Jobs in politics, the City, the judiciary etc. have very little to do with sex, race, sexual orientation or anything else, they're all to do with quid pro quo, Eton ties and joining up with some dining club whilst at university.

I also question just how effective and relevant a lot of this "equality" legislation is. I know plenty of small businesses who would probably employ more women on a best person for the job basis, but because of the expense and complexity of equality legislation female candidates tend to have to be exceptional rather than merely good enough. Also, even though I'm a man, I'm unlikely ever to be offered a directorship of ICI or RBS, and neither are the majority of men or women. It's not relevant to me and it's not relevant to the majority of people living and working in the UK.

Finally, it just goes to show how out of touch a lot of political class is (but especially Harman). At a time when people are worried about job security, their homes (given that vast numbers of people, due to Mr. Brown's abject failure as Chancellor to regulate) have mortgages they can't possibly hope to service and have any quality of life and the future of their families how can a Government wheeling out nonsense legislation, spending billions upon billions on futile wars, bailing out banks with our money and raising taxes like there's no tomorrow possibly be representative of the people?

I dunno, acting like selfish, reactionary dicks incapable of properly thinking things through seems fairly representative of the modern Brit.

I thought we tried a female prime minister once....
