I've just watched Iron Man again and was pleased to find it remained as good a film as it was in the cinema. Sure Robert Downey Jr is just being himself yet again but it fits the film so well. Gwyneth Paltrow and Jeff Bridges also put in great supporting performances. Particularly Jeff who seems nothing like his usual self. There's an excellent balance achieved with the mix of humour, action and romance. They even manage to avoid having a silly voice for the hero.

It also doesn't overstay its welcome at 2 hours. Which is 30 minutes longer (near enough) and feels about an hour too long.

The way Iron Man plays out almost makes you a bit sad when it gets to the big fight at the end because the rest of it has been so joyously entertaining.

How can anyone think Dark Knight is a 'dark masterpiece'? It's an incoherent mess! It rambles all over the place, is too dark to see what's going off, has a silly voiced hero and is full of agonisingly terrible 'darkness' within the hero, which is just Christian Bale screwing his face up a bit. Dark Knight clearly thinks it's being clever way beyond the standards of your average super hero and that is its biggest downfall. Well that and being JUST WAY TOO LONG. A lot of it is probably Heath Ledger's fault, if the silly fool hadn't died before the film came out there wouldn't have been so much emporer's new clothes around the film. Okay so his performance was a pretty memorable one but it's his death which caused the hysteria more than anything else. Michael Caine was rubbish in it too.

If I'm being fair (I don't see why I should be), Dark Knight isn't a bad film, it's just not a good one, whereas Iron Man is.

I've said this many times elsewhere and I probably will again at some point.

I've not yet seen Iron Man but don't think I'll ever be able to 'cos Downey Jr's in it, and I've always thought he's a major tool.

Iron Man was ok, but really just a time-filler kind of film. I watched it on a plane last summer and to be honest, it was pretty much perfect for that. If I'd actually paid money and not been chronically bored, I don't think I'd have found an awful lot of value in watching it. It was semi-good, but the Batman Begins and Dark Knight films were actually good, and actually good is better than semi-good.

I'd rather watch aliens.

Both those Batman films were gash. The first one was far too long and that Scarecrow prick was probably the worst Batman villain ever.

The second was just nothing. Not good, not interesting, not memorable. Even Ledger's performance was underwhelming on account of everyone saying it was amazing. I didn't like that he no neck. Andy Impey was never threatening.

Iron Man was surprisingly good and RDJ was entertaining in it.

I don't see anything wrong with the voting options. All possible correct answers are available as far as I can tell.

Now that's more like it. Finally someone who isn't a stupid wrongness.

Iron Man was brilliant. Downey Jr is brilliant too. Anyone who disagrees with either of those statements is in dire need of a wrongectomy, as their wrong is so big it may well constrict all their blood vessels causing such severe brain damage that it will render them unable to watch anything other than Julia Stiles films.

All three films are identical to me - I've not seen any of them. However, Iron Man looks good from the trailer and I do intend to watch that at some point. I think the only film I've seen Robert Downey Junior in was Zodiac and he was good in that.

I was going to see Iron Man, but then saw the trailer for it which pretty much showed me the whole film in five minutes.

It looked all right.

Iron Man's pretty good. Not as good as The Dark Knight, probably not quite as good as Batman Begins (The Dark Knight is awesome, Batman Begins a little overrated), but pretty good. I do need to see it again, though.

Batman Begins was pretty damn good. It was dark without feling emo, funny in places and made Bruce seem like a pretty sound guy. Too much shaky-cam, though.
Dark Knight was boring, man. I said so at the time and I'll hapilly say so again. It just went on and on and the bike in the car was so fucking stupid...
Iron Man was great from the moment it opened (with AC/DC) to the speech at the end. It was fun, that's all. It didn't try to be anything more than it was, and is the best film beause of that, imho.

The problem with BB and DKR is that they didn't have Michael Keaton or Tim Burton.

If you're at all familiar with the comics, you will know that Tony Stark is a complete tool, so Downey was the ideal choice.

I thought Iron Man was pretty good, although I'm not a huge fan of Downey Jr. I don't understand the Begins/Dark Knight hatred, though, because I thought both films were fucking excellent, and certainly the best Batman films since the Burton ones. In fact, I like them so much I bought them on Blu Ray. Okay, the second one drags a bit, but the opening sequence in the bank more than makes up for it.

I my mind, Dark Knight was better than Batman Begins. Iron Man was brilliant. I can't pick between Dark Knight and Iron Man.

Dude. Long haul flights. Strippers. Makes perfect sense to me. It's only a matter of time before Virgin do this.

I loved Iron Man, with the minor exception of the much-too-long, much-too-boring final fight with the Iron Monger at the end. It's definitely better than The Dark Knight, which was a bit of a mess of a film to be honest. Batman Begins was and is the best superhero film ever made.

Glad we could clear this up.

* - Which will probably therefore be taken up with a good hour of angsty tedious bollocks about his battle with alcoholism, but you can't have everything.

He's also a MASSIVE SHOWOFF. That's probably got something to do with it.

I respect your opinion of Batman Begins, however incredibly wrong it might be.
