So, I've managed to wangle some time off work to try and whisk the newly-redundant Lady T off on holiday.

But we want to go this Sunday, so really late notice. Places like lastminute.com aren't so last-minute any more really.

Anyone got any good sites they could recommend for "I want to go somewhere hot, cheaply, very soon" type action? We are thinking of just going to a travel agent tomorrow and asking them.... but it's always good to try the internet.

...

Also, is it possible to get cheap flights at a few hours notice? I ask as that would be the ideal, there's a place in spain we can stay for free, but at the moment a 7-day package looks like it might be cheaper than flights alone.

This is something I'd expect lastminute.com to be rather good at.

I did, but they don't seem to be quite so last-minute anymore, unfortunately. There are some deals there but not as many as I'd hoped (by quite a chalk).

Does that actually work? I've heard people say it does, but don't think I've ever heard someone say that they have done it themselves, y'know, first hand.

My cousin did it. Went to the airport with a backpack of stuff, ended up in Japan.

thomascook.co.uk got us a fabulous (apart from the bits that involved them) holiday to Mallorca with less than ten day's notice. Good price, too.
