So I dreamed about an old TV show and can't remember if I imagined it or not.

I think it was a failed pilot made into a TV movie. Must have been early to mid-80's.

Basically it was about a dark-haired American who, when exposed to sunlight, developed temporary powers. Small exposure made him 'green' and increased his mental abilities, a bit longer and he'd go 'yellow', increasing his physical powers. Too much sun would send him into 'red' that made him a berserker and would eventually set his brain on fire.

Anyone know what the hell I'm talking about?

Anyone have any similar memories of crappy failed pilots/TV movies?

damn. I was hoping someone would go "oh you fool, that's Technoface starring Joe Hasablat. It's well famous!", but you have failed me!

Incidentally, the above is exactly how I rediscovered AUTOMAN!

That is ringing an, admittedly faint and far away, bell. While I mull this over here are a few for you:

Manimal (some dude who can change into any animal of his choosing, though he always picks hawk, panther, or if he is near the sea, dolphin. I would have gone with dinosaur, for every situation)

Automan (don't remember this that well but I think he is a computer generated cop. Main memorybeing him saying "Cursor" and a little floaty blob thing drew a pointy 80's car)

Streethawk (Knight Rider, on a motorbike)

Finally, the ploddingly dull in the first series and a bit more exciting in the second series, The Tripods.

Edit, oh you found Automan then.
