The babble running round the room is at astonishing levels. The unthinkable has happened - a story has been leaked to the tabloids regarding Runcle who, it would appear, has not only been conducting his personal "men's aids" mail order business using parliamentary postage, but he has also been running a ladyboy brothel from his office in Portcullis House, including late-night auditions.

Runcle is the Party Leader. There's no way his premiership can survive this, and the party appears to be in dire straits.

Similarly, news has leaked that Kalmar is currently being held by the local constabulary on charges of bribing parliamentary officials to leak sensitive information. A search of his files revealed nothing, however - has whatever dirt he may have had already been passed on? Kalmar was the dedicated journalist

[playerlist]
Malc
Mr Chris
Superdupergill
Morte
zaphod79
Plissken
[/playerlist]

With six players remaining, 4 votes are required for an expulsion. Day 4 will end Thursday 4pm.

I am very suspicious that Plissken survived. He said he would be smeared, and yet here he is.

Which means when I don't die, people get to go "Aha! You didn't die! You must be scum!" It is a bit bloomin' obvious.

It does, however, help the rebels to argue as you are to force a lynch and a free resignation, hmm? Especially with the numbers likely to be in their favour.

Number crunching

With four votes for a lynch, and 2-3 rebels possible.

3 rebels means one wrong vote from a non-rebel is game over for the Party.

2 rebels means the Party might survive.

We're humped.

Not if we're careful.

I'm not sure if this all makes malc look more or less suspect.

Yip - lets all build a camp fire ..... sing a couple of songs.

I am suspicious that Pliss is still around , however a wrong vote and its game over now rather than later , that his last comments for yesterday were hinting he was the leader , and that he pulled the trigger on Mr Dom 4 hours before he had to we could have got other information out of Mr Dom , or things could have switched to someone else.

Kalmar may have turned over his info to the rebels so could actually still 'win' since his win condition would now be rebel.

I assume from the description that the muckraker got Runcle which means they have won already but are still around for the numbers they wont really care for anything else now (need to watch out for that as a role claim)

I'm also confused that Morte has not been mod killed for no participation for this long which either means he's a character and has just not posted / or that its been realised that mod killing him hands the game to the rebels.

Players left

Malc - was a suspect yesterday but since Mr Dom was a loyal perhaps he is too ?
Mr Chris - ?
Superdupergill - ? , I do have a question on how long she can continue to play the 'i dont know what i'm doing' card but for some reason i do trust her.
Morte - hasnt taken part in days (that we can see)
zaphod79 - me :-)
Plissken - suspicious as mention above.

Given how close things are - we can either just pick someone and pull the trigger - its all over or not
Or we dont actually vote until we all agree that we're voting for the person however the rebels will be in there making their voice heard.

Hasn't the "they haven't said anything" card been successful in baddie-hunting on one or two occasions?

It has , and the fact that Morte has not posted anything since day 1 is possibly taking things to extremes - i have thought of that as a tactic - just not voting because its hard to pull a consensus of people to push against someone when they have not actually said anything.

However we do also have to consider that if Morte is a loyalist and was mod killed it would hand the game to the rebels and that Craster would not want to do that.

Also, as per previous games, and for reasons I have regularly explained, I will never answer the question "Will X be modkilled?"

Yeah, I was wondering about Morte, but if I was running the game and Morte was a faithful, it would hand a huge advantage to the rebels if he was mod-killed. Of course, the fact that he hasn't been mod-killed could show he was a faithful... and then we disappear down the rabbit hole. Or sideways through it.

Thanks for clearing that up - your descriptions sound much more like a muckraker job that the rebels - if thats the case then its possible kalmar gave his dossier to the rebels which contained the name of the leader - if so he has given them the game - however the muckraker still needs the game to continue for a few more days to get his win condition.

I'm proceeding on the basis that we have three rebels, and trying to work out what the heck to do...

Morte hasn't helped with a "aha, I've been here all along". And Malc has gone to ground a little, but probably hasn't had chance to contribute yet.

I'd be tempted to vote for Morte or Malc. I've got no ideas about anyone else, although I'm pretty sure that Zaphod's ok.

Strange - why ?

Right now I cant see why not Morte , he's basically said he's been here all along but hasnt done anything so if he's faithful he's done terrible and it and if he's rebel or muckraker then he's just got 2 days worth of not running the chance of saying anything incriminating.

Why's that, chap?

From memory his voting's not been iffy, and he's not been overtly suspicious.

The most concrete thing we have at the moment is Morte and that other chap's relative silence.

been in meetings and visiting suppliers all day, will post when I get home. good points being made but i want to review yesterday and try to get some info from that. rubbish to see the result this morning, so do the rebels now have an extra person in kalmar or has kalmar been killed after passing info, I'm not to clear on this.

Kalmar is dead , and we dont know if he passed information - however if i was the journalist i'd have thrown my lot in with the rebels already.

We know he didnt throw his lot in with the party faithful (although i have no idea how that would have worked - i imagine a PM to us all to say what he had found ?)

So another hour and another 'no comment'

Its unlikely we can win now , however we need to decide who to off and then vote for them

Right now if it came to a vote i'd get rid of Morte just because he's not been here and then suddenly comes back with no real explanation why - its beyond dodgy.

If Plissken's numbers were correct earlier one or two votes for the wrong person , the rebels will pile in and its game over - but to get the right person we need everyone to agree and vote on them - otherwise its time out the muckracker gets one more and so do the rebels and then thats it.

Ok since we know now that Runcle was good I was just trying to see if he has defended Morte at any point but it doesn't look like he has so if he was a power role he certainly isn't a good power role I wouldn't have thought.
Zaphod seems to be good since he is very descriptive in all of his posts and hasn't really done anything too iffy however he was also under suspicion from Runcle at one point and I believe Runcle even voted for him.
Malc has been on the fringes but it seems like since he was under suspicion he hasn't really contributed very much, which just asks more questions really.
Mr Chris has been talking and although not being as descriptive as Zaphod he has been joining in a bit more than Morte or Malc so I'm unclear about him.
Plissken is another I'm unclear about but I think I trust him now based on his comments and attitude recently. Although yesterday I did suggest debate would be useful so we had more posts to look at today regardless of the result and even suggested we don't end voting until nearer the deadline, then almost straight away Plissken voted and it was day over.

Based on all that, the two I am most concerned about are Morte and Malc. I am tempted to lean more towards Mort simply because Runcle never supported him, however perhaps Runcle just didn't want people to be able to see that incase this sort of situation arose? It's a gamble obviously.

I'm reluctant to put that first vote in for someone since inevitably if they are not a bad guy then all eyes will be on however we have almost nothing to go on and so the reasons for voting Morte seem like the most sensible option.

If anyone else comes up with some new ideas then I will be open to chang but for now, I don't see any better suspicions arising so [vote:morte]

There is a real lack of posting going on here - it makes it much easier for the rebels and muckraker to slink around in the background - if no-one talks they cant make a mistake and then cant be caught its just a random choice.

After thinking about whats went on before i'm less suspicious of Pliss , if he was a rebel i think he'd be much quieter and would not be trying to push things (although you've still not said why you suspect me) so i'm still thinking Morte for the complete lack of interaction with a side of Malc thrown in for thinking we may have just chosen the wrong one in the face off yesterday.

Okay so a large part of your argument yesterday was around the fact there were a lot of co-incidences between the two of them , and there seemed to be some almost backing up of each other from what they said.

As Mr Dom was a loyal party member , how does that now implicate Malc ?

And as we know we have a chief whip and no-one seems to have been whipped (or at least came clean over it) does that mean that Morte is the chief whip and has never used his night power ? (each night has timed out from what i can see rather than start up again quickly)

Or is anyone willing to come forward and say they have ever been under the whip ?

It seems odd if Morte has not contributed and we have no people being whipped , then that may point to him being the chief whip and therefore someone we want to hang onto.

I think practically everyone is suspect at the moment, so um

let me catch up with the thread and I'll post my thoughts later..

The point about Morte and the whip is a good one, the only way to resolve it is for the whip to come forward or for everyone to say if they have been under the whip or not. I strongly suggest the whip doesn't come forward for obvious reasons, the rebels might hit the muckraker if he is still in the game if they are firing blind.
I haven't been under the whip.

so for now, [vote:unvote]

For the record, I've not been whipped. At least, not by the chief whip. Matron at Eton doesn't count, I'm sure.

Well, heavens. What to do?

Ok well we have nothing else to go on, if someone else comes forward with info about the whip then great but I said yesterday Morte and Malc were the two I was most unsure about and since hitting Morte could risk a power role then

With 6 players alive, 4 votes are required for a lynch, and 5 nolynch votes are required to not lynch anybody.

And at the same time if i also vote for Malc now we still need Morte or Mr Chris to vote for him as well - we have until 4:00pm but i suggest we dont leave it too late

And a question after Pliss's earlier post - if Malc was a party faithful when he got to 2 votes wouldnt the two (?) remaining rebels jump on and chuck him out

That is a very, very good point.

But what we need is the faithful to vote. If there are two rebels, then there is enough votes for a resignation.

However, that may require the participation of a couple of people who aren't able to spend time in the game, which is REALLY FUCKING ANNOYING.

Agreed - well I'm up for getting rid of Malc - the low amount of posts on here suggests to me that either :

Theres only one rebel and they are waiting till i vote to put the boot into Malc (unlikely).
That if i vote we only have 2 and a bit hours to get that other vote in (Mr Chris seems the most likely since i doubt Morte will actually post again)

So in for a moat cleaning , in for a duck house

[vote:Malc]

Puts Malc on 3 , need one more of Mr Chris / Morte to put that final vote in
