That's a Three Letter Acronym (or initialism, in case Dims is reading).

A three word abbreviation would be something like Thrd Armd Bttn.

TLA is a term with a long history of usage. TWA I've never heard of in this context, and neither has Google.

The military is the only place I think I've ever seen a three-word abbreviation.

Richard Herring just did a whole bit about that in his blog / podcast. He's decided it should be "wuhwuhwuh" and "flash" instead of "forward slash".

Never heard of this before. If it's such a pain up the hole to communicate properly with someone that we have to start reducing the amount of words in our language, I'm surprised we haven't regressed to just howling vowells at each other. Oh wait... that's Welsh isn't it?

Of course, "www." is a pretty redundant concept, surely? I can't see any situation in which it would be advantageous to have a separate DNS entry for "www.host.com" instead of just "host.com". Given, of course, that you are hitting it with a browser. Surely you would just say "If a request comes in to host.com on port 80/443, send it to the webserver?
