That and the fact it's not coming out until November here have really made me want to steal it.

It's almost like they're telling people to stop playing games on PCs and use a console instead.

Strange that?

From reading through the thread, it's apparently the installer that's buggered. It makes you wonder exactly what sort of "testing" the game goes through. Apparently if they throw the CD at a wall and it doesn't break, it's ready to ship.

I remember that PC gaming used to be fun. Around 1994.

I'm starting to think Jonathan Davies' prediction of a PC installing and playing games itself subjecting you to mild electric shocks if you came too close, wasn't that far fetched after all.

Problem is that you can easily fix the fucked install if you're running a hacked one.

All you do is let it error and then cut and paste the files it put on C:progfiles atari etc into your selected install destination, then run the crack.

It's when Securom basically finds a buggered install and then treats you like a criminal that you have problems lmao.

Running fine for me. I actually tried to buy this last night from both Amazon (Nov 30 09) and Play (Oct 30 09) and then when I heard of Securom and all the install issues I just decided to fucking steal it.

I'll pay for a copy when they will let me have one but going back to the dark ages of treating the UK like shit for releases isn't something I'm willing to entertain.

Why would you want to steal it?

All you'd end up with is a stolen disc that'll still not work and fuck up your computer.

Wait a minute, you bought your computer and done it all up to play games on. Why not have a second computer for doing everything else on, thus you can not worry about SecuRom and the devil's sperm on the gaming PC, as you don't need an overclocked thingymadoodah to write emails and surf the web?

that would stupid because:

1- it would be a waste of money
2- it would be a waste of space
3- "gaming" pc's are still better than lower-end pc's to everything else.

As for myself, i care shit about piracy really. No, it isn't stealing as much the media wants to shove that.

I tried the 2 pc thing a few months back. Still have the 15" TFT from it. It just didn't work tbh.

To me my PC is kinda like a world that I live in. I'm familiar with it, it has me stamped on it. Trying to do that with two computers just didn't seem to work. I ended up sat at one all the time whilst the other became neglected.

I gave it away in the end (the lower spec one) to a friend of mine who is having some bad times financially (he's been laid off as a removal man, hardly suprising the way the housing market is) so I felt kinda good about that :)

Good thing is I have this other case coming (hopefully) so I'll have a spare one. And I've got a good few parts here (hard drives, dvdrw, HSF,7.1 sound card etc) so I could always build another one for the cost of a cheap mobo and board.

I think I would be a lot more inclined to use two computers if they were both Alienwares :D

Of course that's totally right too. I tried dual boot OS's once but even that was too much hassle. I tend to get very comfortable on a computer, having it change kinda sucked.

But I do need it to do video encoding and the other 8 million things I use a PC for, and I have neither another £800, room for another desktop nor any special wish to be unplugging and replugging things constantly just because some fucker at a software comapny is deliberately breaking games I *KNOW* would work fine on my PC because those few times these days when I actually try a pirated PC game it always does.
