Day 3 of the party conference, and members are falling away like leaves on the wind, or something. Two more revelations rock the party this morning. The first appears in the morning papers and is a detailed account of a carefully planned electoral fraud and vote-buying scheme, carried out by none other than The Rev Owen. Summarily dismissed from the party, he is currently helping the police with their enquiries.

The second scandal comes in the form of a press release waiting in every party member's in tray this morning. It begins:

"We, the true loyalists of the backbench, who have stuck with our party through thick and thin, feel we have no option but to lay bare the awful truth about our colleague, the Right "Honourable" Curiosity. No longer should he be allowed to carry on in public life as if he is an upstanding representative of the people. It is a deceit of the highest order, and a betrayal of the public trust placed in his position.

It is incumbent upon us, then, to issue this press release letting the nation know that Curiosity is, in fact, a woman called Shirley. At least at weekends, usually to be found in the Blue Oyster Bar taking his fill of slow comfortable screws in the company of Big Barry The Biker and Ken Clarke."

The Rev Owen was a rebel, and Curiosity was a party faithful

With 9 players remaining, 5 votes are required for an expulsion. Day 3 will end Tuesday 4pm.

[playerlist]
Kalmar
Malc
Mr Chris
Mr Dom
Superdupergill
Morte
zaphod79
Runcle
Plissken

Ok, so mixed news today but at least someone hit a rebel.
9 left and out of that nine we must have 1 journalist, 1 leader, 1 whip, 2(?)rebels and 4(?)party faithful. So if we are lucky/clever with our voting today we could win this.
Looks likely that the journalist isn't investigating and is just randomly choosing people since we have lost 2 people per night so no clues as to wether the journo is going to side with us or the rebels. Let's start looking at the voting then...

Okay so i complelty misread the muckracker role and thought they were sided with the rebels , which they are not - they are more the 'serial killer' of the piece.

So first questions are who sided with the Rev / backed them up , and did anyone (apart from Myp) have any real disagreements with Curio

Looking back its amazing how quiet the rev was - he got a nice "if Myp is good then Curio's obviously bad" post in early on day 2 but very little else.

One other observation of the current list :

[playerlist]
Kalmar
Malc
Mr Chris
Mr Dom
Superdupergill
Morte
zaphod79
Runcle
Plissken
[/playerlist]

Morte has hardly said anything ?

I think you mean the muckraker , the journo just investigates and finds out who people really are

Mr Chris wrote:

Apart from each other ?

Day 1 - Curio and Myp had a bit of a spat , Grim... and Mr Dom both suggested going for Myp as did Mr Dave

Day 2 - The Rev fingered one or the other of them early on day 2 (and specifically curio just before that)
Mr Dom voted for Curio
Malc voted for Myp
Runcle stood up for Curio
Plissken is suspicious of Myp
SDG is is suspicious of Myp
Mr Dom voted for Myp
I voted for Myp
SDG voted for Myp
Mr Dom voted for Myp
Plissken voted for Myp

However , he was one of the people around at the end of the 2nd day trying to get people to vote so the day would not time out which strikes me more loyal supporter than rebel.

In the same way even though it was the wrong choice SDG and Plissken were both around at the end to actually get votes in.

Mr Dom and Malc are looking dodgy as well.

Rev Owen says publically "Myp or Curio"

Those two vote for one each to see which way the wind blows.

I can only restate that I am a loyal Party Faithful - and as such I am totally clueless and don't trust anyone else. If you really want to string me up then go for it.

Anyway, on with the order of the day...

Day 1:
mr dave: 2 (Morte, Malc)
runcle: 3 (The Rev Owen, Mr Dom, zaphod79)
joans: 8 (Curiosity, Mr Dave, myp, Grim..., Runcle, Mr Chris, Plissken, kalmar)

Conclusion...
The Rev voting for Runcle gives Runcle a, umm... whats the opposite of FoS? A Toe of Trust?

Day 2:
zaphod79: 1 (Runcle)
mr dom: 1 (kalmar)
runcle: 1 (myp)
myp: 7 (Curiosity, Mr Dom, The Rev Owen, Malc, superdupergill, Plissken, zaphod79)

Not voted: 2 (mr chris, morte)

Friday was damn close to finishing with no lynch, and frustrating that noone was brought near the limit in due time.
Major FoS at Mr Chris & Morte for that...

I was out with Mrs Chris celebrating how wonderfully faithful I am, you see, and missed the vote.

I was reluctant to vote for myp on Friday but changed my vote since we weren't getting anyone close to going and I wasn't even sure if we were going to get enough votes in.
Going on the patterns in Zaphods post and Mr Doms post, Mr Dom is looking pretty suspicious. I don't have anything else to go on so I think I will stick in a vote now since if this week is anything like last week I'm going to be flooded with work after lunch.

Well, this is not very good, not very good at all, but I suppose we have at least got 1 dodgy person out.

I'm really not sure who to vote for at the moment, SDG still seems iffy, but then I thought MYP and CURIOSITY were iffy too.

So for the moment, I'm going to wait and see...

The current FoS lie on you and Mr Dom.

A bandwagon starts for Mr Dom.

If you are a rebel, and Mr Dom is clean, the logical thing to do is jump on it.

If you are a faithful and Mr Dom is either clean or a rebel, the logical thing to do is jump on it.

If you are a rebel and Mr Dom is a rebel, then the logical thing to do is say "hang on a minute", especially as you lost one of your scummy friends last night.

And at no point have you denied anything, you've just gone "oh really", and "why is that".

Is it? Why's that? Because if Dom turns out to be innocent, you've potentially implicated yourself as a rebel by being too quick to jump on a bandwagon.

Keeping the mouth shut would not implicate you as a rebel as much as going "hold on a second".

True enough. He's not doing himself any favours.

So, Dom or Malc, then.

Runcle's been a bit suss as well, of course.

Personally, I'm more suss of the silent Morte then I am of Malc.

& Mr Chris' last comment about Runcle is suss - given that Rev voted for him, I would have put him as probably non-scum (unless he is the muck-raker)

Not that I have anything concrete to go on, but once you find out I'm a goodie, I hope you will consider these arguments as being what I really think & not some double bluff madness ;)

That could have been a bluff, of course, to throw us off the scent of their cahootery.

That is right. The moment the journalist makes his/her decision, everyone on the side he/she chooses will get PMd with the results of his/her investigations. They won't be told his/her identity though.

So nothing since Plisskens last message here - and still no sign of Morte - he might be just keeping his head down , or be in danger of a modkill for not actually participating we don't know.

Only two people with votes right now and between them i'm more suspicious of Malc so i'll vote for him , we do have until tomorrow afternoon but if no-ones actually talking here it does away with any information the party loyalists can have , we need to have communication in here and if its as quiet as this then it just plays into the rebels hands.

[vote:Malc]

I suspect that our rebels are keeping their heads down and hoping for a timeout.

How would a timeout help? To be fair, we've got more chance of smearing one of our own so they've got little to fear.

[vote: malc] for now. I'm interested in responses.

Assuming Mr Dom and Malc are rebels, then the only way they can hold on is to hope for a timeout.

I suspect they'll try to take me out this evening (a nice meal, some fine wine, some compromising pictures with a woman who is not my wife) as some kind of petty revenge.

With a timeout they get to expell someone else from the party which will not be a rebel , and the muckraker gets to chuck someone out (and get closer to their win condition)

Even if we are throwing out party loyalists , we need to keep chucking otherwise we cannot win.

Well, I'm as loyal as can be, so you are/will be making a mistake by voting me out, however, I think there is something fishy going on here, still can't work out what it is though.

I'm getting very sus about plissken at the moment,

Malc

I don't want a timeout - I'd rather I was picked then noone as there is always some info to be gained from the voting patterns.

Still no word from morte, who has been stunningly quiet.
