Yes folks, the lovely Amy from EA has sent me a game for someone to review for "THE SITE".
I'm uming and ahhing over whether I should say what game it is. What do you reckon?

Anyway, it's a PC game, minimum specs are:

Windows XP

* 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
* 1 GB RAM
* A 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
* The latest version of DirectX 9.0c
* Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2
* At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of
additional space for custom content

Windows Vista

* 2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
* 1.5 GB RAM
* A 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
* Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1
* At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of
additional space for custom content

I also figured it would be fairer if it went to the person that wants to do it and has done some stuff for "THE SITE" before, rather than the person who happens to be looking at the forum at the right time.
But, as always, I am happy to hear what you all think.

I don't have a PC that will run it, nor do I particularly care for squinting at a 15.4" laptop screen for gaming, so I'm out.

I think you should ask all the previous reviewers first Grim...

My MacBook will run this happily, but isn't due to arrive until the end of next week. If no-one else pipes up by then, I'm in. I need to start writing for the site again soon, I have some early drafts of iPhone game reviews.

My big PC works again now, so I'm happy to do it. Been a while since I wrote a review of anything.

Okay, if it is The Sims 3 then I'd really like to review it, because I always love Sims games for a few hours, then get annoyed with them and I'd like to see how this version fares - and, also, I'd get loads of husband points for bringing a copy home.

If it's not, even if it's something great, you can have it. Sound fair?

I do. It would be brilliant. I could decide that he had to wear a chicken head to work one day, or something. It'd be very much like the Sims, in fact.

She did; the only protection The Sims 3 has is a CD key (and it doesn't even validate it online).

Good girl, she knows it makes sense.

Actually just done reading about this. It's probably because EA are getting so much shit over it. Not only that but The Sims and 2 are the biggest selling PC games ever. Would be fucking stupid to piss off that many PC owners.

Let's hope this is a beginning of something better from EA.

I'll take it!

Here's my review:

The Sims 3 - Reviewed by End of an Era.

It's shit.

0/10.

And The Sims 3 is well on its way, being EA's biggest-selling PC/Mac launch ever. Despite the fact that it was widely pirated weeks before release. Hmm.

TBH? I'm not being sexist here but nigh on everyone I've ever seen who liked The Sims was female.

And females are (IMO) a lot less likely to steal games.

I think it was your internet campaign that made the difference. They don't want to irk the Coffey any further. ;)

It's been a bit delayed by the heatwave making it impossible to use my PC, but it's on its way. I've got five days off over the weekend, so I'll have it done some time then.

Teh Rev's Review:

I made two female housemates. I made them talk until they liked each other, then I made them kiss until they were in love. Then I made them 'play in bed' over and over and over and over.

10/10.

Nah. My wife's sim got married to her female boss, mine are just a boring heterosexual family.
