Just wondering if any of you folks go on this website.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com

The reviews are brilliant, just a tad NSFW

Inderned phenomenon Yahtzee is known to this brain. He irritates me mostly, but is occasionally supah awesome bostin. The rest of The Escapist is dross of the lowest gutter, though.

Zero punctuation consists of the following:

1) Pick a subject
2) Pick the most obvious, stereotypically mockable thing about that subject
3) Mock it, for far too long, at a stupid speed
4) Bask in glory.

i use to follow ZP quite closely. I watched to the new episode every wednesday. Nowadays it isn't so funny anymore and i haven't seen for some weeks. I have to check it tonight to see if it's back on its feet.

The rest of the magazine is incredibly silly and pretentious. Do they even talk about games?

I find it funny, though. Really funny.

Speaking of which, I also saw my (it isn't really his, but there we go, humor the mental - Ed)carefully crafted "barista" joke on pistonheads this morning. Nigh on verbatim.

I stopped caring about ZP when it was preceeded by an unskippable advert. The new intro music sucks donkey balls too.

I don't like things on the Interwebs what are videos or sounds. I like writings and pictures only mostly. Though videos where sounds are not important are okay sometimes.

Zero Punctuation is ace, although I doubt I'd let it influence my game-buying decisions.

If you did, you'd probably never buy a game again.

I got a bit bored of him some time ago. Shortly before he did his dreadful TV show thing. It's possible he's bought into his own gimmick a bit much.

That TV show was an abomination against the Gods.

As with most things in America, they just can't get enough of a good thing and they've flogged the format to death. If they'd stopped commissioning the thing after 20 episodes or something, it would've gone down in legend. Unfortunately, it's now the same tired joke every week and Yahtzee's success has gone to his head. That TV show was shit as well. Two goons grinning at what Yahtzee says, which for the most part wasn't funny or interesting.

In short: old.

But still capable of utter genius, like the Duke Nukem Forever one.

Actually that would be a good series closer.

With absolutely no points of comparison, Unskippable was okay when Yahtzee was on it, but it seems like it would be ghastly boring with just the other guys by themselves (or is there three guys?). There really isn't a lot to say about most game intros, right? They kinda speak for themselves.

ZP used to be great, and often makes some excellent points (the Fable 2 review practically read my mind) but the new intro music was the sign that ROT was setting in.

The only other thing I've watched was the one where they do a sorta MST3k thing over game intros. I watched the inaugural episode (Eternal Sonata, the one laugh out loud joke being young Polka asking, 'Mom, when I grow up will I jump off a cliff?' 'Oh no, don't be silly') and have 'forgotten' to watch any further episodes.

"Rifftracks" as the kids call them are almost universally shit.

It's like an unfunny version of watching it with your mates, except you can't thump them on for bad puns.

I detest this trend of using the word "riff" when not talking about guitars. I shall kill all involved.

Well, i did subtitles for "shaolin soccer" once, and they were great. It's the thing i'm most proud of.

The word riff was around a long time before Led Zeppelin.
