As an aside to the 1TB thread.

What is the best way to archive/backup your data?
Zip it or is there another free/cheap backup app?

Any decent online storage?

Online backup? There's quite a few cases recently of such companies going bust or being found out to have less than satisfactory backup solutions themselves. Best avoided IMO.

Worth running as a failsafe though. Virgin Media has it for free up to 10gb, cheap to increase that, if you are on their XL package. First run destroys your bandwidth as it goes as it has priority to all other apps, but after that I barely noticed it.

Use http://www.amazon.co.uk/Max-Value-eSATA ... 167&sr=8-1

Some perfectly normal internal hard drives and a copy of the ever excellent goodsync.
