As we all know PokerRoom has now transferred over to the previously unheard of bwin network. The customer service has got worse and the software itself leaves something to be desired. I am currently looking for alternative hosts for our weekly game however I need to know how many of you wouldn't be able to play if the software was PC only and not playable in a browser or on non-PC dedicated software.

If you post in the poll please also state that you have posted in the thread so I can make sense of the results.

If any one want s to bring anything else up about the game before the next session begins then now would be a good time.

I can't really play if it's PC software only, but I understand if there is no decent software/site available that it can't be helped.

:p

PKR would be my ideal choice but I am worried about how well it would run under an emulated environment. Maybe someone can give it a go?

You can, but you can only set them up if you're a silver member or above as far as I've discovered (i.e. once you've earnt over $1,000 in rake). Ditto Pokerstars.

I think I may be that at PKR. At PS I believe you have to actually email them to set up the private game which seems rather ridiculous.

Also the software at PKR is lots of fun and really suits this kind of game.

PKR is a bit slow because of the silly animations, etc. A Beex game would probably take about 5 hours.

You what? I've always found it one of the quicker ones. I certainly wouldn't want it going any faster.

The missus has the PKR software installed and an account. As do I, though I removed the software after fleecing them via their very generous joining offer.

I believe that you need only mail PS once once you reached the level and they'll just unlock the option in the software for you. Dusk Til Dawn used the same software until recently, and you had the ability to roll your own from the off.

I tend to play most at PKR as that's where I've made loads of profit. But it is slow compared to most other places - you're only likely to see five/six hands every ten minutes (which is the standard blind level) and therefore it tends to suit big pot pre-flop play, which suits me fine.
