I've been trying to get my Hori EX2 arcade stick to work with my Mac. From my research it's doable but I've hit a personal brick wall.

You see, I have to add a new 'Info.plist' (here:http://neonichu.soup.io/post/1623633/Hori-Fighting-Stick-EX-2-on-a) that has the correct drivers for the Hori stick to a freeware input extension here:http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/ProjectRoot/Xbox360Controller/OsxDriver

This is where my head explodes, I don't have the 1337 to alter the files or even look into the package.

These guys do http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=166197 but there's no help for nooblars.

Can someone do this for me?

x

Have you tried turning it off and turning it on again?

Seriously, no idea. I would try a dedicated Mac gaming forum because I'm not sure how many of us actually use our Macs for games. Emulating a CPC is painful enough frankly.

When you say you can't 'look into the package', what happens when you right or ctrl-click the file in question and choose 'show package contents'?

It says 'No'

Seriously though, I tried everything I could do. Think this needs an Xcode hammer.

Heavens no, I'm not playing Mac games. It's for MAME running on a Mac (which is perfect btw).

I'll wait until Dr Gaywood has a brain fart over this, or the lovely Mr Craig Grannell asks Steve Jobs.

Gah! I just went and did the whole process myself and also noted that the installer DMG is locked and therefore I couldn't replace the info.plist in there either.

It was only when I went to get the replacement file that I noticed the FUCKING EASY INSTRUCTIONS on the maker's website...

Quote:
The simple solution is adding the Product-/Vendor-IDs to the Info.plist of the driver. The file is located at /System/Library/Extensions/360Controller.kext/Contents/Info.plist
You can find the replacement Info.plist here. After replacing the old plist, you can use your Hori stick with MacMAME!

So you install the thing, and THEN replace it.

"Simple! *peeerrrp*"

I don't think Myps wants to bum me. I know he wants to bum me. Sometimes he wants to bum me in the face. But it's always me that does the bum of him and his face.

ARGH!

I replaced the plist fine but the Hori stick still wasn't recognised (went through the process 3 times, just to be sure).

Then I saw another post about using USB prober to kick it's arse (this fixed the issue for many people) so of I went on the Information Super Highway...

Turns out it's an Apple Developer App.

FFS

Going out at lunch to buy a wired 360 pad I think, unless some beautiful bastard on here has it or can point me in the right direction.

People say I'm the life of the party because I tell a joke or two. Although I might be laughing loud and hearty, deep inside I'm blue. So take a good look at my face, you'll see my smile looks out of place, if you look closer, it's easy to trace

The tracks of my tears..

I successfully uploaded a Wii Arcade pad and £12 to a CEX drone and he downloaded a wired 360 PC/360 pad into a bag for me to assimilate with my gubbins.

Hey, Mac nerds! Apparently Mac users are having trouble hearing the audio in our online videos.

Can someone check for me?

http://www.tpoll.net/launch/?wave_id=00 ... b3bc5402a1

There are two embedded videos, and the direct links for each. Do either (or both) have audio? The users were using Safari, but I'd be interested to hear how it goes in other browsers, too.

I can't even get them to load in Windows Safari.

Broken in Safari and Firefox. Probably a codec issue.

Plays like a dog in Firefox as well dropping frames left right and centre.

Try encoding it using Handbrake as a web optimised mp4.
