I've done alright so far today (apart from being in work), woke up and tore into goodies with Baba Z (completely awesome) & Mrs Z. Got a lovely collection of gifts including an Airfix Spitfire! Tub of M&S Swiss Rolls! A Camo/khaki reverse hat! A Link Pez! Chocolates with Booze in! Tickets to go and see Lee Mack Live! Cinema Vouchers! Tube of Spicy Mexican Tofu Paste! (?!) Alien Cosmolights from the Planet Scardox Pryton Pack! and Monies!

AND Going out for a Thai meal tonight at my fave restaurant!

Birthday update: Not so good is finding out your poorly pup who has been ill on and off for a few weeks now has to be taken to Liverpool Animal Hospital because she has an enlarged heart that needs specialised treatment that will need her to stay in for a few days and means that the Holiday we have just paid for will probably now have to be cancelled.

Fucking gutted/sick/worried.

Got more info back from local vets: Sounds like around the heart there's a bag of fluid that needs draining and then a course of antibiotics will be administered (once they've tested the fluid they've drained). I'm a lot calmer now I know what's going on, and the vet sounded pretty damned sure this is the cause of all her symptoms. Not out of the woods yet but still better than what I was imagining.
