There was an earthquake here in Lancaster a short while ago. I checked before posting this to make sure I wasn't crazy and just imagining that the earth was wobbling. This is my third earthquake, and it was different from the other two. This one was bouncy whilst the other two I felt in London were slide-y.

That is all.

ZAP.

The soil in Lancaster has a higher jelly content than it does in London, that'll be why.

Nothing damaged, I hope?

Nothing damaged as far as I can tell. Well, not in the flat at least, and the cathedral is still standing :p

Oh Christ Zardoz, I didn't realise you where in Preston. You poor, poor sod.

Come on guys, surely we can have a whip round to move the poor lad out?

Haven't noticed anything round here. If we've had one and I've missed it, I'll probably go home to find all my Xbox and Gamecube games in a pile on the floor.

I'm not sure that's any better to be honest.

You had an earthquake Meems? I'm unspeakably jealous! :)

I've always wanted to experience an earthquake. And a tornado. Tornado first, yes, then an earthquake. They're two amazing events that oddly don't appear on my anxiety radar. I'd willingly even experience a dangerous one, just to see.

So yes.
Plague = Boo-urns!
Awesome-yet-dangerous-spectacle of weather-system and tectonics = hoo-rah!

Felt it really strongly here, it was the sort of wobble as when a bus goes past only about five times stronger. I was wondering what the fuck it was until I just saw this thread.

Nah, that's Pete. I'm in a band with him, he's alright. Just distract him with Frank Zappa bootlegs, the sheep will be fine.

Right. I'm in Millom, and I felt nothing; apparently in Barrow in Furness buildings were evacuated as they thought the BAE shipyards had explosionated due to the ferocity of the groundwobbles. 's a bit odd.

My parents have experienced both (an earthquake in Acapulco, and numerous tornadoes and even a hurricane in Canada) and would be happy to tell you YOU ARE WRONGY MCWRONGO. That it doesn't appear on your 'third world people ill? PANIC!!!' radar is very very very odd.

Didn't feel anything. I've never experienced an earthquake; I'm quite jealous.

The one in Dudley was acebest. House wobbled in mad fashion for a good 10 seconds or so. My sister thought someone was shaking her trying to wake her up. The street outside suddenly became packed with neighbours looking up and down the street, you know, for the earthquake. One had a huge net to catch the bastard, but it must've got away.

It was pretty good, it actually caused me to terminate mid-shit, and wipe once before running outside to try and see what the fuck just happened.

I shall refrain from making some vulgar 'falling in her crack' type joke.

Oops.

I never said that I wasn't something of a fuck-up in certain respects, incidently. :S

This was my third earthquake the other two in London felt different. They really excite me - the other two I woke up 2 minutes before they happened and so was awake when they actually happened - this one was in the daytime, obviously, but it moved differently.

It was great!

Note to all - I think that when asked "did the earth move for you?", the right response is just "yes", rather than "well, the last two were a bit different, but I liked this one all the same. Though the last two - hmm, the slideyness was good, but..."
