Cool.

4,500,000,000,000 isn't 4.5 billion though :)

edit: and Chrome users. And Safari users. Fuck 'em!

Ooh, no it's not. Where does it say that? (Edit: Aha! Fixed, ta).

And it seems to work fine on Chrome - just give it time to load.

It does, in the end. But, I have to do the following to make it so:

  1. Scoll all the way to the left, using Shift & Mousehweel, because the scrollbar doesn't work.
  2. Close the opening popup box, which is placed at the sun and halfway off the screen for some reason, which activates the links at the bottom and the scrollbar
  3. Click "Hide Info Boxes" to show them, haha!
  4. It works!

Still, it's ace, and you must have been pretty bored.

Great stuff.

Do you want typos pointed out, or would that entitle me to a swift kicking?

Did you do it because you were bored? Or bored because you were doing it?

I'm glad Grim... has used his power to restore Pluto to its rightful place as Official Ninth Planet.

[EDIT: ah, just read his notes. But still, good to see it listed in the index next to the others]

I should put Ceres in there really, too. The other dwarfs are too far away (INSERT "TAKING AGES TO GET TO GAYWOOD'S HOUSE" JOKE HERE).

You might find it works okay after a refresh. Also, step 1 == "home" key, surely?

Firefox, Opera, Chrome (with varying success, it seems).
I might kick it into shape in IE next time I'm bored.

Refreshing doesn't seem to fix anything, and the home key doesn't seem to work on that page.

I suspect, like my iPhone, my version of Chrome is slightly messed up. Perhaps being in the Dev channel is the cause.

Either way, I'm not sure any of this matters. It's still pretty ace.

I surprised myself, especially with the fact that the sun makes up 99% of all the mass, and the distance between Saturn and Jupiter.

Sun:

Mercury:

Mars:

Earth:
Capitalisation of 'earth' in second sentence
'It's moon' should be 'Its moon'

Uranus:
49K should be 49 degrees K (unless you've done it on purpose because you can't be arsed with finding out what the symbol is in ascii)

Neptune:
farthest - furthest? Farthest is a bit American. Perhaps.

Pluto:
it's planet status - its planet status
obrit

I didn't know Uranus was originally named after Mad Ol' George. I've learnt something new today.

Actually, you never tend to specify 'degrees' when talking about Kelvin.

No it shouldn't, Kelvin is an absolute scale, therefore not in degrees.

Really? Ok then. I was taught degrees Kelvin at school. It's probably one of those things they lie to you about then tell you the truth later on.

Could you put in Halley's Comet and have the page track its journey using science and maths (also coding)?

Seriously though, what about the asteroid belt? It'd be interesting to know where that is in relation to the planets.

Yeah, we need the asteroid belt! This is seriously good, friendly stuff. The sort of thing Google would do in an attempt to maintain its squeaky clean image. I have a feeling this might spread around the web pretty quickly.

Did you know that grill promotion was originally offered to Hulk Hogan, but he turned it down in favour of some sports drink that went under almost instantly?

I don't know what that is, but I'll make it work in other browsers and get it a domain name first, I think.

Any domain name ideas?
