Thought this might be worth mentioning since the first game was rather excellent.

No doubt available from the usual...ahem..."import" sources (or certainly will be within the next few hours).

Not tried it myself yet but going by the trailer I saw it looks like it's all in English (as was the Japanese release of the first game).

The Japanese release of the first game wasn't all in English.

Not played it in a while but I can't remember any Japanese text, and certainly nothing that proved even the slightest problem for western players.

Edit - Just had a quick look since I've still got the Japanese version (never felt the need for the western release).
Yes, there's Japanese text on the top screen when you go through the menus, but it seems to be totally un-needed (is that a real word ? I've had a few "jars" tonight and have forgotten how to spell unness....unessasa...) since everything is in English on the main (bottom) screen.

Think I'll have my first go on this one in the comfort of my bed. Hopefully they'll still have the midas touch music-wise, amongst other things.

There's only one "midas touch music-wise" I'm interested in.

"Rhythm Heaven" for DS is 'out there' now as well (US version of Rhythm Tengoku Gold).

What with the likes of Space Invaders Extreme 2, Henry Hatsworth, XG Blast (very enjoyable Mutant Storm/Geometry Wars rip-off), GTA China Town Wars, the US release of "Boing! Docomodake DS" (plus new Pokemon & Final Fantasy games that don't interest me in the slightest but will probably be of interest to RPG fans), this seems to be a damn good period for new DS releases.
