Couldn't do anything then sorry, guys. I was rubber-banding all over the place the lag was so terrible for me. Getting very, very tired of Virgin broadband now; is there any other provider I can get without having to get a BT landline?

Not even sure you could hear me at all then, either.

No, we couldn't hear you at all, and no-one else reported any lag issues so I'm afraid the problem did lie with you.

There;s nothing else you can do without a phone line, I'm afraid.

No I had issues with lag too just before we brokefrom Guardian to get Zardoz and Tiq in. I kept getting stuck in scenery.

It sorted itself out in the end and only lasted for that one game.

You took us to school in that game! We kept saying "I'll just go-- oh, I'm dead. Ok, zardoz, go and-- oh, he's killed you. Ok me and Morte will-- get killed. What the fuck?!"

Mine lasted from the moment I stepped into my firs Wingman game with Dimmers and continued right up until the last game.

It's quite a testament to how fun bezzie matches are that I stuck around 'til the end. My patience wore very thin very quickly and peaked at almost constant swearing.

I had some Awssomesauce with my dinner.

No idea, just got into it and enjoyed it I suppose.

It has only been the last three weeks (since playing L4D) that I have really played much XBL with Bezzies. Tonight just proved what I was missing; bum stories, politically correct jokes (not really), a bit of gaming with 9 others, the voice of King Grimothy of That London. Not bad for £7 quid a month or however much it is.

Enjoyed the game last night, not played Guardian (or whatever its called) before. There are so many great game modes to GoW2 it's aceness.

That was Guardian, yeah. I really enjoyed it, and not just because I spawned right behind Tiq that time and won the round single handidly with some quick chainsaw sodomy.

There are still more modes to try. There's one that is based on capturing and holding points in the level that looks pretty fun. Also, with 10 people online for Gears last night, I'm sure we could get up to 6v6 UT3.

I'd rather play more GoW2 or L4D than UT3 though.

Alright, but you must admit that 6v6 Warfare could kick serious ass. Darkwalkers, man.

It was a great laugh owing to the bezzie contingent, but I didn't really get the hang of Guardian mode. I find it difficult to recognise goodies from baddies (might just be because I haven't played as a locust before), and the opposition starts spawning right behind you it's impossible to play any sort of tactical game, because you don't know where anyone is..

I don't know what it is exactly about UT3 that makes me think meh.

It's just kinda souless. I'd be willing to play 6v6 though, to see if it improves.

*Goes to Goozex to place UT3 on hold*

To be fair, the game does spawn you in a group initially. I don't know how it chooses spawns afterwards. I think it might be that you spawn in the closest point to the centre of mass of your team, so if you stay together, you spawn together. Plenty of use of the right bumper is necessary though, and some heart-in-mouth runs to get back into position.

It felt like we were starting to get some tactics figured out last night. Hiding the team leader, for example, means you are effectively a man down; bringing him into play has risks too. Also, killing the enemy when they still have a leader is quite useful for putting them off-balance, as they will have a short delay before spawning, and might spawn somewhere really awkward. And that's before you consider the merits of staying as a group of 5 vs splitting up into teams of 2 and 3.

There is more to ponder about in this game mode I think.

Yeah, that's what I mean. You start off with a good idea of which end of the map the opposition is in, and you can trade shots and try to close up on them - like in all the other modes.

But as soon as someone gets killed or you get killed and respawn, it gets a bit random and was confusing me a lot.

Just need to play it more really :)
edit: see you next time Grim...! (or play l4d)

He did! We had a full lobby of 10 at the end of the night: TheEgg, me, MyFinger, kalmar, Tiq, Dimrill, Zardoz, Sir Morte, Malabar, and someone I am clearly forgetting. (Edit-- it was Wullie. Sorry man! I have bad memory thing.) It was great.

I'm gutted I missed out on this.. my shower broke last night and I had to fix it...

The friends who I have played with before only want to play Horde mode so it's a bit frustrating knowing there's all the other modes to play. I played wingman mode with you a few weeks ago and it was awesome!

I'll look out for you all next time! It'd be great to try and break a Bezzie mates world record for most people playing at one time!

What is the most-Bezzies-at-one-time record, I wonder? We've certainly filled 10-player GoW2 games, and I think Forza night managed 10-12 people a few times. Have we ever managed to fill a 16-player game?

Sorry for shunning the invites, had an early gaming window while Mrs Z went to ASDA (Do your other halves always come back with clothes when they shop alone?). Popped on later and you'd all turned gay so I played RE5 instead. Which was nice.

I fair enjoyed that last night, KotH on the old map with the cars everywhere was my favourite game of the night, well balanced and hard to keep control of the hill.

Doc G, due to the absence of teabagging I have resorted to magpie-ing AKA taking your shiny gun from you and killing you with it, strangely satisfying.

I went public for a couple of games last night The matchmaking system is still slow as [insert preferred slow thing here], which is annoying. I am now ranked 2 and deaf in my headset ear.

Yeah! That's a bastard of a place to put the zone, and I'm sure the level designers knew it too.

Haha. I might have to stop using the gold one just to annoy people.

But you have a "2"? Sounds great!

MISSED CONNECTION. Me: hunkered down in a crashed subway car on Hail, holding the control zone and a torque bow. YOU: in the next car over, with two of your friends and an explosive arrow stuck in your chest. You respawned but I never saw you again.

The one thing I didn't like about Annex was that if you got knocked down to crawling, you couldn't kill yourself. So twice I was next to someone, we both got nailed, and then the opposition ran of en masse to the new zone, on the other side of the level. So the remaining players on our team were either going to have to win a battle with two men down, or come over and rescue us, giving the other team enough time to hold the zone, change weapons, have a cup of tea and read the paper.

A simple suicide button would be a great help and would stop this mahoosive annoyance (as much fun as it was to roll around on the floor with y'all).

If there already is a button that does this, I take it all back (and what is it?).

I could fix that by dropping the bleedout time to 15 seconds, or even shorter if it'll let me.

Yeah, you could also break the rest of the fun by reducing the bleedout time to 15 seconds, or even shorter if it lets you.

I could fix that by dropping the bleedout time to 15 seconds, or even shorter if it'll let me.
Do you not auto revive at the end of the bleedout time, or is that only in Execution?

EDIT: Also, those are good tactics, I like.
