Giant worm wreaks havoc in Newquay.

Look at the fucking teeth on that.

(I used to get changed in the car park behind there to go surfing at GayBay if the rest of the coast was blown out.)

They must have got a fright when they found it.

That is one freaky beastie. The sea is full of freaky things though eh? David Attenborough should be forced to constantly narrate new Blue Planet style docs. The Deep episode was so cool/scary.

Barry. Awesome.

In other trivia news, the longest earthworm was found in my birth village Norton Canes. By the canal. It was 5 foot summut long IIRC.

I adore that film, but I'd never thought of simply calling one "a tremor". Brilliant.

I love the fact that they've made all that effort to capture it and now, instead of clubbing it to death with shovels and destroying it with cleansing fire, are researching what to feed it. Scientists are the best.

Until it escapes and eats us all!

I can tell which side you were on in the Alien(s) movies!

When I first saw that film, I missed the bit where Chang says they should be called 'Graboids'. Later on, Burt says 'We killed that motherhumper!', and then Val says 'Congratulations, be advised that there are two more, repeat two more motherhumpers', so to me, they've always been called 'motherhumpers'.

Yeah, I'm impressed that it wasn't immediately stamped on and burned by reactionary mongos.

Am I the only one who read this as Motherthumpers.

Glad the worm got its own aquarium and that, hate to think it would be killed off.

I'm sorry, did you not look at it? Science wants to know what it eats, fine, but it should hurry the fuck up and move onto finding out what kills it.

Agreed. At first I thought 'hey, a tremor is a seismic event' (though I'm sure some fucking geologist will correct me), and then raptured ever so slightly in nostalgia for a top film.
