The people of Roswell get up, hoping that things will have turned back to normal.

It is with the cold touch of inevitability that they realise this is not to be. As feared, more people are missing. Two people.

A quick register is called out by someone who was feeling officious, and the first missing person is...

Kalmar.

Entering his house, the survivors are greet by the sight of a dead, naked man lying in a pool of blood. He has the initials 'TCB' carved into his chest. They assume that this is Kalmar... or more correctly, was Kalmar. They have to assume, as where his head should be is just a brain.

A bloodstained note is placed on a nearby table. It reads...

/ --. ..- .-. / -..- ...- .- - / .--- ...- -.-- / ..- -. .. .-. / ..- ...- ..-. / ..- .-. -. --.- ..-.

There are some personal effects in the house, but nothing incriminating.

Kalmar was a Townie

The group, nay mob realise who else is missing.

It's The Rev Owen.

To his house they charge, and as they get closer they see more blood! Egad! Bursting through the door they see a sight most unholy. On the wall above the bed is a shelf, with lit candles on each end. Above the shelf is a large poster of Evlis Presley. The most disturbing thing, perhaps, is that Kalmar's disembodied head is on the shelf. It is missing a brain, which has been replaced with a cheeseburger. Tasty.

The other main attraction of the room is a pile of green goo on the bed. Maybe the aliens are good guys after all, because we can tell without a shadow of a doubt that they just killed a bad, bad man.

The Rev Owen was the Serial Killer

With 20 people remaining, 11 votes are needed for a lynch. 15 votes are needed for no lynch.

In the event of no consensus, Day Two ends on Thursday 11th March at 1pm.

(...and yes, I know the photographer was killed, but given that there are only two killing roles and one of them died, it wouldn't take Einstein to figure out who did what - so I decided to let Owen's lovely descriptions get an airing :))

So, two townies and the Serial Killer. Hmmm, mixed news really.

The serial killer is a bit unpredictable in that he could help or hinder the town. It's one more killing role out the way though (although the mafia could have one now).
Overall, I think it's a better result than the town usually gets after day one.

I can't figure out if the SK being killed is good or bad. Although they have their own win condition, it is closer to ours than the alien's or mafia's. So effectively 3 down when it comes to voting against scum, plus I assume that neither of these was recruited, so unless the mafia targeted an alien (is this right?), there are now two mafia, right?

Yeah, except the SK doesn't care about anyone else but himself. We've been lulled into the false sense of security of having the SK on our side before, and I didn't like it then. Him killing a townie last night goes to show that he's on his own side. I personally think it's good news for us that he's gone.

It's time for the numbers game... :)

20 of us left:

1 Mulder
1 Scully
1 Mafia Recruiter
0-1 Mafia Hitmen/Roleblocker/Bodyguard (There is one of these roles assuming someone got recruited, could be zero though)
1 Host Alien
1-4 Evil Aliens
1 Benevolent Alien

Which leaves 10-14 Townies (except there was a max of 13 in the first place, so this suggests at least 2 Evil Aliens)
Of which there are:
0-1 Mannequin Artist
0-1 Cops
2-4 Masonic Townies
11-7 Vanilla Townies

If the mafia have recruited, then that could have been anyone except for FBI, Aliens or the cop. So I'll let someone else try and work out all the possible permutations of that. :p

Morning. Sorry Lace.
That could have been worse, but I think the aliens/mafia will see the death of the SK as a good result.

You're assuming he knew he was killing a townie, he had no reason to know anymore than the rest of us.

Well, it could have been worse, at least we are an adversery down. I'm not sure if looking over yesterdays play will help much this time though as the main argument seemed to be if there should even be a lynch.

I agree with this, but in the short term, the SK's direction is similar to the town's because the mafia and the aliens are more of a threat to him.

Kind of academic now anyway.

Yeah. I think if anyone deliberately offed LS yesterday because he was the photographer we may as well give up now, as they are some sort of genius.

Yeah, I was thinking of his change of board permissions.

Anyway, back to the game!

So does anybody have any thoughts? I was expecting Rich to have defended himself more yesterday...hmm...

It's not a question of who deliberately offed LS because they knew he was the photographer, but if anyone deliberately offed him because they knew he wasn't one of them (like The Rev Owen voted for him because we now know he just wanted anybody dead).

Everyone said at the time that they just wanted somebody dead, though. And we don't really have much to go on.

Not that it matters, as it's just the serial killer yanking our chains, but this translates as
Quote:
GUR XVAT JVY UNIR UVF URNQF

Not a great day for the town, sadly. I need to re-read the thread from yesterday. It's possible we have some information-bearing townies (maybe a cop investigation; definitely an FBI investigation; possibly a Benevolent Alien vision).

Rich only just got past halfway to the required lynch total, so it would have seemed strange if he'd started to panic.
I'm intirgued by your suggestion from yesterday that we should play LS and Rich against each other. I wonder if this means Rich is a townie as well?

Wasn't sure what else I was supposed to say to defend myself, other than "please don't kill me off really early on again". I do think we needed to lynch someone, and I stand by that. I'd prefer it wasn't me because I like playing these games, and I'm putting a lot of effort into this one, making notes and suchlike.

I think we need to do the same as yesterday, 2 people with a high vote count and see who squirms. I am also very suspicious of those people who were the only one voting for someone. So.

Well you can't pit two people against each other when you only have one can you? Rich just happened to get mentioned at that time, it could just have easily as been you.

Mr Dom was very keen to no lynch, could be because he commits suicide if a random kill gets his friendly alien buddy. Do we want to kill Mulder? I don't know any more!!

You could do if you wanted, although I wouldn't say I'm "always" keen to vote early on. I'm keen to get information, and the only way for the town to get that is to lynch people, and analyse the voting patterns that emerge.

I am common or garden townie, but then I would say that even if I wasn't, so

If I have to sacrifice myself to move the game, so be it, I'd rather not (obviously) but if I do go, then you can learn some more from my death.

Alien-like avatars-

Morte-some squid like alien monster
Zardoz-some sort of creature
Malc-Its bloody scanners.
Craster-A fucking robot thing.
Zaphod's Siamese Space Travellers
Bobboyaro-A fly doing some kind of dance to report back to his alien home.
Gazchap-A hamster android wanting to eay us all.

Only if you accept that you're a middle-aged man who plays the guitar in his pants.

Like what ALIENS have for breakfast? Hmmm....

Yesterday, 2 people started with suggestions for 'random' choices, but any alien knows who is/isnt alien, so can 'randomly' put a name in the arena knowing they will gain.
What strikes me as wierd is that Malc suggested 2 people 'randomly', but Dr G suggested a totally different 'random' who ended up being lynched & a Townie.
Probablility was on the side of it being a townie I admit, but with 2 other options listed by Malc that Dr G 'ignored' before suggesting another person could lead me to think Dr G. is an alien and one of the two Malc mentioned is the alien - probably Dudley as he jumped on LS relatively early, and he was strongly anti no-lynch (as any good alien would be)?

I was out last night AGAIN at a friends so was late posting today, sorrrrrry! Best not comment Dr.Joans, you'll be safer that way :P and Dudley is going to get a long-winded message on Xbox now for his mean remark. THEM KIDS IS MEAN! etc

I'm feeling these (obv. not literally):
Mr.Chris
Gaywood
Malc
GazChap (because he's always dodgey :D)

Glad we managed to get the SK though
