I don't want a printer scanner. I don't have room. Just a scanner please. One where the software doesn't crash all the time preferably, and has good image quality.

My Mustek Pearpaw 1200CU gives good quality and was really cheap but the software constantly breaks down. Which is irritating.

I've got a Colorado USB 19200 at home which is very reliable but the image quality isn't so good. And it's really big.

If it can be fast and good quality, that's even better.

I have a CanoScan usb powered model. Cheap, high quality and it's been bulletproof.

Similar to this:

£55

I remember wanting a scanner when I had my Amiga and the only option I could viably afford was a black-and-white hand scanner.

How far technology has come. Although I do wish scanners these days had the option to speed up/slow down the scanning arm halfway through the process so you can replicate the stretchiness of hand-scanned images ;)

I'd go for that mate. Scanners these days outperform the ones I've used in studios years back that cost a few grand.

The Mustek Bearpaw provided excellent quality results, it's just a pity it constantly breaks down. And the drivers are impossible to download if you want to use it elsewhere.
