I recently wrote a a Best & Worst game box article, featuring some boxes from my personal collection. This involved taking said boxes on the train to work so they could be professionally photographed.

Apparently, the sight of me sitting innocently with a bunch of Amiga games tottering on my lap was enough to enrage a bunch of fellow commuters (well, three thuggish teenagers). It started with loud guffawing and muttered insults. 'Faggot' was said several times. Then one of em' threw a scrunched up piece of paper at me. They then got off at the next stop, with more cries of 'faggot', 'dickhead' and 'you're a nerd'.

So much for gaming entering the mainstream.

Yeah, but trogs like that would do the same if they'd been books, too.

Look on the plus side - when they're about 24 they'll be too busy with their grandchildren to harass anybody.

That website is really annoying. :(

And Mr. Dig is bad? *mutters insults*

I played Stryx on my CD32 recently. I was very suprised to find I actually had a Psyclapse game.

It's very difficult. There's a big scary laughing alien robot on the game over screen.

I always wondered what the deal with Psyclapse was. Were they an offshoot of Psygnosis or a completely different company? The familiar logo and box artwork would seem to suggest the former.

Edit: and yeah, the website is truly, truly awful. I actually had to go in and add a bunch of little <b>'s. Before, it looked even worse.

It was a subsidiary of Psygnosis. Named after the Imagine C64 "Megagame" of the same name (Psygnosis having been set up by former Imagine staffers).

I thoroughly enjoyed looking at the article.

Wtf?? Sorry, but i couldn't even imagine something like this happen at all. Is this a common behavior in the UK? I don't mean prejudice, but i hear many episodes of random violence or drunken stupidity, and it usually it happens there

Sadly, yes. Public transport is a horrible place to be. I've personally had to break up 2 fights on bus journeys. I've seen bullying and vandalism and smoking and graffiti.

Anyone got a spare car they're not using?

Well it's not spare, it's my only car. I don't really need it anymore, though.

It looks like this, but has 17" alloys instead of 16s:

I've already got a brand-new unopened one of those. I did sell a used one to some mug who thought it was new, though.

I can only assume that our buses have weaker versions of those transmitter things from Condemned 2 installed on them, causing folk nearby to act like utter idiots. Last time I used a bus without having my mp3 player to block the noise out, all you could hear were a bunch of kids swearing their heads off for their whole journey and as they got off, they hurled a load of abuse at the driver. For no reason.

We should employ all ex-commandos as bus drivers?

Or perhaps we should tell all children that the bus companies are staffed with Rambos in order to scare them into being good.

It could work.

who's talking about guns?

Obviously i was just joking, because while the ex-commando suffered no abuse from the teenagers, neither all the other drivers did.
