Unless it is about steam powered submarines, it isn't worth reading. PM me a copy if you want.

I strongly recommend you write it in the style of Richard Blackwood so you are taken seriously. Failing that, get Gaywood to do it.

It's sh1t if it doesn't feed the other half of the conversations. Very browser-unfriendly thing, twitter. By "browser" I mean person looking at it, not IE.

Ah, I see. They've been banging on about twitter on absolute radio quite alot recently but I never bothered to check it out until a link was virtually thrust under my mouse clicky pointer.

I have to admit, I quite like the idea of it. On the radio they have this feature called "the big I am", where people text/email in what they are up to in a short sentence. It's quite funny - but relies on the producer/presenter choosing the amusing ones and discarding all the chaff so to speak.

Maybe twitter needs some sort of lulz editor/aggregator to only show us the funny tweets.

If you follow both of the people, you see both sides of the conversation. If you only follow one of them, you don't see either side. I think that's very neat. In any event, what you see when you are not logged in isn't what you see if you are logged in.

Wrote an entire piece and sent it to Charles Arthur, tech editor. Will put it publically on my blog if he chooses not to publish it.

I can't stand them. I used to like Virgin Radio, but since they change to absolute, they've moved to more of their style of broadcasting.

Chris O'Connell in the morning is about the most of that style that I can take.

I like the guy who comes on at 10:00, and the guy who comes on at 13:00 I used to like Suggs, and I used to like Tony Hadley.

They should go back to the old name: Virgin Radio Soon To Be Absolute Radio.

In the meantime, they should be Absolute Radio Soon To Be 'Virgin Radio Soon To Be Absolute Radio'

Best bit of the article, frankly. That 'early adopters' line was pretty cringingly self-righteous, too. Facebook, Myspace et al get on my nerves, and I was still using an Amiga until late 1999, turning down a playstation in favour of having it repaired. It's entirely possible to just criticise something because you think it's a load of old shite, dear.

Also, hot air balloon ride? Erm... thanks and all, but next time just give me the money, yeah?

Most cringeworthy is this bit:

Quote:
In fact, there are several ironies in Twitter haters appropriating the character of Nathan Barley to try to make their point, given that Charlie Brooker, Barley's co-creator, has embraced Twitter with both arms. Also, it's worth noting that one of the writers on that "jam festival" episode of The Day Today was Graham Linehan, who now organises a Bad Movie Club on Twitter. I mean, if you're going to use other people's jokes, like some simpering fanboy, to make your anti-Twitter points, do at least try to ensure those joke writers aren't huge Twitter fans
