Sister in law might have a baby today, but it'll take a while for me to get news of the sex, so I won't know if I'm an uncle or an aunt.

That, and I might go over to someone's house to watch Legally Blonde

I was born on Friday the 13th, so every one is like a mini birthday for me. Hooray!

Today's bad luck though is that my local cinema isn't showing the new Friday the 13th movie. I need to see Jason - even if he is a stupid, running, jumping Jason nothing like the character I love.

I made brews this morning before realising that I had used all the milk yesterday. Happily I was able to avert catastrophe by going to the shops.

I inadvertently deleted the only partition on my external 1TB drive after leaving it plugged in to a computer during the Windows XP Install process.

It was only when I noticed 931GB of unallocated space on the drive in the installer that I thought "hang on, this computer only has 80GB" and panicked.

Fortunately I have partition recovery software so I didn't lose anything.

Well it's payday for me, so it's nay bad a day in my book.

Also, didn't 13 once use to be a lucky number?

Excellent maritime trivia: It used to be considered highly unlucky to set sail for a voyage on a Friday.

Look at your crotch?

I had not one but two utter cunts refuse to let me merge (which I was being polite about) this morning, which because I was very tired nearly resulted in a crash for all three of us. Fucking cunts.

I'm sick with an incipient cold which hopefully won't turn into one of my typically spectacular ones.

I was born the 13th of April and so considered it my lucky number for years. Latterly, I've decided that it might be the reason I'm so unlucky.

I love the number 13.

Both my names begin with the 13th letter of the alphabet (my first name even ends with it)

It's the number of cards in a suit

It's the number of months their should be in a year

It often doesn't exist as a flat number or floor number.

In the flats I grew up in flat 13 was a secret flat, no one knew what went on in there.

I managed to accidently put a phone on ebay for £6000 and lost out to the tune of £500 on my car insurance. Not good.

Crikley, 500 quid for car insurance is quite a bit.

I ended up paying £1150 for my car ins last year as I had two outstanding accidents or it would have been £350. They've been closed now, and I have my no claims, so I'm supposed to get the extra I paid back. But apparently calculating it by todays rates, it's an extra £500 with this company. Not impressed..

A couple of the young lads were talking car insurance the other night and one was paying £1500 and another £1900. I begrudge paying £400!

I paid 7 quid less for car insurance than I did for the car.

Bike insurance is sub 200 quid now, but TPFT, as the bike is worth buttons.

MrsA's empolyers insure me on the Gayolf.

I'm paying £380 this year on the 1.6 Civic, but the first year I was insured on my 986cc Renault 5, it cost £1,200.

I'm hoping - but not realistically expecting - that my insurance will be 3 figures this year. For a 32 year old with 6 years no claims and a 12 year old car.

Charl had her speed awareness course* last week and said that of the 17 attendees, none were teenagers and most were at least mid-40s.

This morning a woman joined the M602 blissfully unaware of the hightop, LWB transit that had to take evasive action to avoid a collision. Thankfully the Volvo in front of me had predicted this and wasn't overtaking it. She looked to be in her 30s.

I have discovered that pointing at people and shouting "BANNED!" is a more effective release than calling the lane-hogging, slow-driving bastards a cunt.

* "Would madam like an easy £90 day course or 3 points, £60 fine and possible insurance premium repercussions for the next 5 years?"

I insure a 4-litre modified Range Rover and a transit van for less than £400 a year - what the fuck?

Yeah, I'm only paying £529 fully comp. a year for my modified, import GT-Four and I'm 25 with 4 years no claims. I think my car's insurance group 17 (possibly higher given that it's imported and modified) and the M3 is what, 20?

I know a girl who insisted on getting a practically brand new Audi A3 as soon as she passed her test.

19 years old, been driving 1 week, on-street parking in a dodgy part of Liverpool, A3 1.6.

Any guesses?

Liverpool postcode, separated from Toxteth by Dingle, convertible, a (protected) fault claim 2 years ago, more desirable (according to dodgy stats) than an old Range Rover, and (the model has) a historically high rate of first-party claims with no others involved. Is your Range Rover a group 20? Do you do 16k miles a year in it?

My Octavia cost a grand to insure when I moved over (3 years ago), and my Civic would've been £1500. So to be driving an M3 Evo convertible for insurance between the two is a big improvement already, especially with the claim.

Unfortunately, I do rather demand comfort and enjoyment from the cars I buy, and they'll all be towards a grand to insure and under 50mpg, so over 3 years I wouldn't even break even on chopping it in, apart from maybe a Fiat 500 Abarth or Punto Essesse. Then again, other maintainence costs are running higher than I budgeted.

That's outrageous. Charl paid under £900 as the main driver on the (54 plate) Octy vRS, even with 0 no claims (although she was 28). The crims are favouring them again too the last year or so - we'll see if that message has reached the insurance stats in a couple of months.

I told her it would be a metric fuckload, but she did it anyway. She has literally no other outgoings though (lives at home, no debt) so she can afford it.

Even now, 3 years later, she's paying over £1200 for the year.
