I'm sure this has been mentioned already, but I don't have the time to look for the thread.

Any way:

Chortle Link

Why are Chortle, a comedy website, reporting on a remake of the Day of the Triffids? Well, because Eric Idle (I have no idea why I typed his name then, apart from the initials being the same) Eddie Izzard has a major part to play:

Quote:

Eddie Izzard is to star in a new BBC adaptation of The Day Of The Triffids.

The comic will play Torrence, the leader of a squad of soldiers who tries to round up survivors after the killer plants take over Britain.

Dougray Scott, Joely Richardson, Brian Cox, Vanessa Redgrave, and Jason Priestley will also be appearing in the two-part drama, now being filmed in the south-east of England.

And a complete nutter of a soldier as well, if I remember the book.

That's a hell of a cast. Has anyone seen Izzard's turn in Valkyrie? Is Valkyrie even out yet?

I often really hate Eddie Izzard.

Oooh! I love John Wyndham. I didn't know about this. It had better be good or I'll have to format my brain again.
