Lately, I seem to be have been playing quite a lot with my black Wii with a normal controller Gamecube, but I'm getting a bit fed up of the picture quality. Has anyone got a component cable they'd like to sell or lend me?

Don't PAL games not support it, and the PAL GC not have a component out?

Early* PAL consoles have a digital out, used for component. Whether the games support it, I don't know.

* - NOt sure when it was stopped, but I got one just after the price drop to £99 (I think) and it had a digital out.

A lot of the PAL Gamecubes have the digital out. No PAL games had 480p (sadly), but with a Freeloader and some North American or Japanese games you can have progscan.

Oh right. That'll teach me for not actually looking at the back of my console before posting.

-edit- Mine has a digital AV out.

I'd just get an RGB scart cable for it, rather than piss around trying to get a component cable.

Already got one of those, but it's not great. It's a three-way Xbox/GC/PS2 one and it gives me wibbly lines (technical term).

Alright get yourself a decent RGB SCART cable. (And are you sure that the one you have is RGB and not composite-SCART?)

For a gamecube, there would be little -if any- benefit with component over RGB.

I've been mainly playing Resident Evil, but I'm tempted to go back to Donkey Konga and F-Zero GX at some point soon.

I might need to fish my Gamecube out too as I bought about 8 games for it the other day. Obviously I could use them on the Wii, but one of them was an NTSC Animal Crossing which Game kindly sold for £2.99 as it requires a Freeloader disc. :)

FeeX.

Seriously, even when blatently cheating (Infinite energy, and so therefore boost) I still couldn't even come close to unlocking the last cup.

Yes, it's frustrating how much PAL Animal Crossing (the Gamecube one) costs on the secondhand market.

IIRC there's a Homebrew Channel app that lets you play non-PAL GC games on a PAL Wii. I think.

I thought Animal Crossing on the 'cube cost more because it came with its own memory card. I wish I hadn't got rid of mine now.

Unlocking the AX tracks was one of my proudest gaming moments.
