There is a short trailer here. Looks nice. Set for Xbox 360, PC, DS and PSP; coming out later this year.

Interesting, no PS3 release.... I also think I read somewhere this is XLBAH, not retail.

It's by the folks who did Chaos League, isn't it?

That was good fun, but scarily buggy.

I was just expecting something awesome with the name Blood Bowl. I didn't realise it was some kind of nerdy D&D type stuff.

I'm always amazed that people who play video games feel they have any standing to call anyone else a nerd.

Also - you're a silly head. This looks brilliant, notwithstanding nerdly D&D-ness. American football with ogres? Fucking aceness, man.

I do not recognise either the authority of the International Criminal Court or the Nerd Scale.

I was thinking the other day that it would be nice to see an updated version of Mutant League Football (or better still, Mutant League Hockey) on a modern console - I guess this could be the next best thing.

Oh there is also a java version of BB which follows the LRB rules.

Is this confirmed? It would be a right pain in the starfish if true (my 360 being four rooms away from my t'internets socket means I've never used Live)

Brutal Sports Football was great. Wild Cup Soccer was terrible. Never played Mutant League Hockey. Bloodbowl has games workshop orcs in it. Therefore it is horrible. I played the board game once. Didn't like it.

EA take their successful NHL series of games, add more violence, mutants, holes in the ice etc but manage to balls it up thanks to very floaty controls. From what I can remember, I wasn't all that fussed about scored goals because if you could take out all your opponents, you won anyway so I used to just aim to do that as the hockey aspect wasn't much fun.

I don't think this is an XBLA game but an actual disk release. According to a [very geeky bloodbowl forum that I might frequent -Ed] the release dates been pushed back from spring to possibly autumn this year (but then again it was supposed to be released in Q3 last year).

I'm trying not to get too excited by pre-rendered cinematics.

Still.

WANT.

There'd better be a Dawn Of War-style Army Painter thingamy. Can't remember if Chaos League had one or not.

[edit]Oooh, hadn't gotten far enough into the trailer.[/edit]

Oh and nothing to do with Bloodbowl but the other game I desperately want this year. It's a two part interview with Tim Schaffer regarding Brutal Legend.

Hmmm. The underlying game was pretty mediocre, though, so I'm not sure I'll bother. Would this even apply to the 360 version, though?

If you have either of the previous versions (PC Obviously) then if you go to the link with your key from the game you can pick up the new Chaos Edition for £8.
