*Wrinkles nose* Euuugh! Poor Mrs.A! :p

This can be deleted though, I won't be posting much in it and I don't think anyone's nearly as fascinated with ASPR as I am :)

Unless Mrs.A's friend joins :D

A Rickman related question then (and a comment on the fact that he's in his 60's now!)

In the original theater release of Robin Hood , at the end there is a point where he decides to force himself on the girl.
In the movie version he sticks his "winkle pickers" (shoes) between the girls and pushes them apart.

In every DVD or TV or Video release this scene is cut ...... why ? (I used to have quite a good 'cam' copy of the film when it first came out and my brother wore the exact same type of shoes so we used to take the p*ss out of him - then every other showing of the film we got to that point and went - where's his shoes gone!

Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves was a PG wasn't it? I would imagine back then that restrictions on what could and couldn't be shown in PG films were a bit stricter, and any scene that implied rape was probably cut. Although there's probably countless exceptions.

Worse bit of film butchering I have seen recently was the showing of Watership Down on TV with the 'Bright Eyes' scene. Oh, they led in with the 'you're feeling tired, Hazel, aren't you?', him and teh black rabit floating off and then... credits.

I was of course already crying in anticipation five minutes prior, but... gnnggghhhhhh.

He's still shown trying to force himself on her, though. It's just daft.

Maybe they objected to the shoes?

Meems - that's ridiculous! I love that film.

There are odd cuts to that film. "Fuck me, they cleared it". And the scene at the Crusades is more gruesome.

Can I just say...

because of this accursed thread, I DREAMT about Alan Rickman the other night.

I was visiting a small rural airfield with friends, and he turned up too for unconnected business and it turned out he was an old family friend.

And... here is where it get especially bad... I remember asking him to pose for a photograph with me while holding up a 'Hello Shin' sign (in the 'Hello Titler' stylee), explaining to him 'it would make someone I know extremely jealous'.

:o

Are you being serious? It's Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves.

HAve I ever mentioned the story I keep hearing about Messr Rickman being gay - it was rather ludicrous as he was purported to be living with wossisface from One Foot In The Grave. Still, I've never seen mention of any female companion and the last interview I read with him seemed to specifically mention a genderless "partner" throughout the text.

What a bloody daft thing for people to say. He has a partner, sadly, called Rima Horton (looks at her own deathlist and underlines Rima's name at the 1st position another 100 times) he has been with her for years, but they are more companions, like him and Ruby Wax (RICKMAN GEEK ALERT!!) :DD

Perkies, that is just ace! But if you did do that, I'd have to kill you :P
